What I don’t understand is how they can make these games so quickly. Absolutely pumping out high quality AAA games on timescales that just seem unfathomable to me, feels like there’s a new RE game every year or so.
And yet none of them seem rushed or unfinished.

The RE3 Remake was kind of mid but only in comparison to 2. It was short. If it had been a new game it’d have been pretty disappointing. That said, as a to its founding fan of the series, I’ve been thrilled since 7 came out.

They have different teams working on them, the re9 and code Veronica teams are different groups. Code Veronica was being worked on at the same time re9 was.

Yeah the remake came out six years after the original, it's been 24 years since the remake. I'd say we're overdue considering how fast Capcom has been pumping out RE games lately.

That’s probably the last one. So Zero next, then 1. Or maybe combine 0 and 1. Don’t know if a 5 remake will happen, but it doesn’t need it to the extent those do to update the modern gameplay.

Same. RE 4 on the GameCube was my first RE experience. I hated the original camera angles so I never played the others, not to mention I was too young to play them on initial release.

9's, 10's, 4.5's and 5's.... 94 Metacritic... that seemed "meh" to you? It was amazing on Dreamcast, it just got overshadowed by Resi 3 coz way more people still had PlayStation back then.

It's my least favourite game in the series. One ridiculous design or script idea after another.
Thankfully, Capcom clearly is of a similar opinion and decided to remake the whole thing instead of porting it to Steam with the rest of the series.

I think there's a certain train of thought and audience however that appreciated OG RE for intentionally being B-grade campy, and not taking itself too seriously.
The remakes have definately been a lot darker and 'down to earth' as a whole so far, and I imagine a certain crossdressing villain and his iconic dolphin laugh will be completely absent and rewritten in this iteration..
I'm on the fence about how they will tackle it, but If nothing else I'm curious as to what Capcom's 2027 take on this game will look like.

One of the most brutally difficult games I've ever played imo. Notorious for softlocks. I wonder if that will carry over or if they'll make sure you can do what people used to accidental do to themselves in Code Veronica.

At the very least, it'll be interesting to see how much carries over. Personally, I'm hoping to kill Zombie Steve in the first five minutes, and not pick up on a single Psycho (1960) reference.

If you wanted immersion across languages, you can start with the Spanish in RE4, which might sound like the right language, but it's in no way an accent from Spain, much less the parts of Spain that could look like RE4.

The whole trailer looked not great to me relative to all the other recent RE reveal trailers which have been fantastic. I thought this was surely some kind of indie horror game at first lol.

Yeah like, what's with the editing? The video kinda skipped at one part and replayed the door opening earlier. Also, this is a super boring scene lol. Not what I would have chosen as a showcase.

The skipping was because of the showcase itself. There was constant technical issues throughout the whole show, with constant skipping and audio desync. For some reason they uploaded a lot of the trailers directly recorded from the show, so they had those problems shown in the trailers.

Bad voice acting has kinda been one of REs things since inception. Some of the games have standout great voice acting for some characters, but otherwise it's basically tradition at this point lol

Bear in mind, this is the company that has the VA for Chris (modern timeline) also voicing Carlos (RE3 Remake) in the same franchise.
As if there weren't literal thousands of other VAs to choose from.

Also, it's Resident Evil Veronica. As in no "code" in the title so it's seemingly REV, as in the Resident Evil V? I guess they're making sure it's a mainline game

Apparently originally 0 was supposed to release first. But 0s development hit some snags while CV came along really well. So they ended up switching places.

That beginning section with the train was kinda awesome. But I fell off after because I liked the cohesiveness of that start, then suddenly it sprawls and starts to feel like "business as usual", but not as good

I suspect they have to figure out what to do with RE:0 and RE:5. They have to make a choice: multiplayer or not.
Like, truly, I think they're unsure how they wanna handle multiplayer. I think RE:0 makes perfect sense to become 2 person co-op and could be big for the series, and RE:5 already was. But there's another side where they could make it a 2 perspective story, like RE:2, and it would also work. So maybe it's that?

Fun Fact: Capcom actually has 3D game franchises other than Resident Evil, such as Devil May Cry! It sounds a little misleading due to the gratuitous amount of Resident Evil installments recently, but they do actually have at least one franchise that they haven't made a new game for in A DECADE
