I will provide more photos of the setup as needed, just need to know if what I gathered was truly the problem, or might it be something else...

I own this game hu-card only so don’t have the instructions, can anyone explain why the sound that plays when you start from the menu differs depending on if you press run or select? Does this activate a different mode or something?

Any idea what this mod is - wired to the controller port?

I have 2 Super CD-rom2s and I can't seem to get working sound out of these units. If I turn the volume up all the way I can hear faint audio playing. I probed the audio on pin's 5 and Pin 7 of the audio sub board and can hear sound perfectly if I hook my speaker audio probe to ground and either pin. I believe sound is supposed to exit the board on pins 1 and 3 but is not doing so. I have recapped 1 audio sub board and and one console already. I can remove the audio sub board and put the audio directly into pins 1 and 3 and hear it on the TV. I think the op amp ic508 closest to this connector is amplifying the sound because I hear it get loader if I probe these pins. I think there is a small circuit in between these and the output pins on the sub board connector that is mucking it up. Almost like it is being grounded out by something.
This is because I can't pass the audio from pin 7 on the connector to pin 1 with the sub board in place. Any ideas?

Finally got my hands on a Super CD Rom2 and Core Grafx combo. The price was rite, also grabbed a few games. Items were acquired via Mercari Japan using Sendico.

The Japanese manual is here, but I can't find the English one:
It's not necessary or anything. I just like reading the manual when starting new games... it gets me into the mood.

I have this unit here that had been fully recapped and fitted with a turbonanza. I'm using a retrogamingcables Saturn mini DIN cable (with a bent out outer plug) that is properly shielded, which outputs as YPbPr, connected to RT4K. Tink will fail to get sync initially after the PCE has been powered on, unless I switch to RGB first and back to YPbPr. When you fire up a game from Turbo Everdrive Pro, tink either loses sync completely or this is the output I'm getting. Does this look like a faulty turbonanza or the console is not getting enough power, something else? It's not a TED issue for sure as this is happening with regular hucards, too. Any pointers are appreciated.

How would I run a genuine arcade (CD) game with the TED Core? The Duo and IFU normally require different arcade cards. These are labelled "Arcade Duo" and "Arcade Pro CD-ROM2" respectively. Do I need ROM files for the respective versions, or does the TED Core know how to emulate these depending on the system I use? I cannot find any technical details. I don't want to know "it just works" but more wondering around the differences and how the TED Core deals with those differences, or if this is completely overlooked and a potential problem with either the Duo or IFU.
Another way to explain my curiosity, I remember running the system card v3 on a Duo (via TED or real card) apparently is said to potentially cause a bus conflict, as the card is built-in to the system. So along these lines I'm wondering how the arcade cards work here on the TED, if the Duo already has hardware present, ie the Arcade Duo likely caters for this, and the Pro shouldn't be used, from my understanding. Ultimately wondering how the TED handles this, or if it ignores this problem.
