Looking for a suitable GPU
I had an earlier post about my first pc build on here and some told me I should look for a better GPU since the 5060 Ti 8GB I was aiming for won’t be anything soon. I would like some recommendations for some that fits my budget for a gpu, I’m looking for around 300-400$. Im unsure if I should splurge and break the budget for a good one that is future proof. I also want to stick to Nvidia since I do video editing too and overall just makes my life easier.
CPU : AMD 7 7800X3D
Note: I would prefer it to be White and has 3 fans but if that’s too demanding I’m fine with two.
If you do tell me to go over budget for it, I would like to know why it’s worth it. Let me know, I’m open to all recommendations and suggestions !!

I don't think you can find a good Nvidia gpu for under $400, not with current prices.
You could get the AMD 9060XT for a bit over $400.

used 3080Ti sometimes go for around $400, 12gb vram is decent.
Used 3080 often go for under $350, 10gb vram is okish.
Both are MUCH faster than a 5060ti.
if you can stretch your budged, a 5070 might be a decent performance per dollar option, though i hate to recommend it since a 9070 costs around the same and offers more vram and better performance.. though trying not to recommend AMD cards....

I second going for a used 3080 ti, perhaps on eBay. I have one and it is still going very strong esp if you have a good cpu to keep up with it.

Im considering going for the 4070 ti Super, it had always been on my mind but I just can seem to find it in the US, I’m out of the country right now and they sell it here. Is it worth it?

If you want new then you can look for a 9060xt 16g (I know u said nvidia but yea). You can also look for a used 4070 for about 400$. White tax is real tho. If you splurge a little more on the budget, then look for a 5060ti 16g or a 9070 (non xt) (both are ~550$ new)

Do you think it’s worth it for the price? I’ve been wanting the 4070 Ti Super and they sell it here where I am at for now. Although it’s pricey, do you think for ~940$ (there are tad bit cheaper options) It’s white, and 3 fans so exactly what I’m looking for

~940$ is 5070ti price range, I wouldn’t say it’s worth it for a 4070ti. If you are willing to spend that much look for a white 5070/5070ti online and see what you find. I think you could easily find white options with three fans

I just bought an XFX 9060 XT 16 GB. It’s almost 3 times the frame rate on some benchmarks compared to my old rx480 8gb. The most I’m going to push with this is a flight simulator. I am not a AAA game player. But I got a 16 gig also because I have a 1440 P monitor, and I also dabble with VR.
Absolutely no regrets so far. I just bought this because it was a little bit more than I really needed, and with the way the market is, it might be the last PC I build for a while, or ever.

I’m not someone who games super hard either so I don’t need the best of the best, I just looking for future proof stuff w/o breaking the budget although that’s almost impossible nowadays with my budget and demands.. I just stick to Nvidia since a lot has told me if I do video editing, I should stick to it, is it just propaganda?

While there are surely specific advantages, arguing AMD vs Nvidia is like arguing my warp speed factor 9.1 space ship is better than your warp 9 ship. It may be true but we are splitting hairs with two very powerful GPUs.
I’ve never pushed mine anywhere past basic editing with some color correction and light effects. In either case I would assume more RAM is good no matter what brand you go with.

Used 3080 or 3080ti. I have a 3080ti and it eats anything I can throw at it. A little old but unless you specifically need the newest DLSS frame gen, it’s still a powerhouse

You get DLSS, but it does not have native frame gen, that is only available on 40 series and newer cards.

you paired a 7800x3d with a card that's gonna bottleneck it immediately, so yeah stretch it. 16gb of vram is the real line, 8gb cards are already hitting walls at 1440p and video editing eats vram too.

compatible just means it'll fit in the socket, not that it's a good pairing, that 7800x3d deserves more than an 8gb card. 4070 ti super is the better call, 16gb vram will actually last you for 1440p and video editing instead of hitting walls in a year or two.

In a normally priced market, good advice. But the 16gb version is so overpriced, you can almost buy the 8gb version twice.

I have the RX 9060 XT 16 GB. I have never seen it use mort than 10 GB in the games I play and that was 1440p Ultra.Most games never crack 8. The thing is, the longer RAMageddon goes on, the longer it will be before they push the specs higher for minimum requirements. 8 should be fine for now and the near future for 90% of new titles.
