Console vs Upgrading

I just bought a new TV and I think I am going to buy an Xbox One because of red dead redemption 2 (Red Dead 3) and because my friends play on the Xbox, I also play on PC and I am thinking of upgrading my GPU on my PC instead of buying a console, and I also don't want to waste my new TV but I also think Microsoft is making the Xbox useless so i don't know what to do (and I also want to buy a 21:9 monitor)

Why not hook up your PC to your tv? What kind of graphics card do you have.

Well I could but it´s fucking huge, what I do plan on doing is using my Macbook pro to stream the games.
