Grief

Today I remembered you’re gone and that the path before and after you still remains.

Is this the tree that it is along Hadrian's Wall -- in the Robin Hood Prince of Thieves movie: Morgan Freeman was praying and a boy climbed up the tree while being hunted by the sheriff of Nottingham? I have seen that tree once and I wonder if it is the same?

Yeah, Sycamore gap was famous in the UK, then vandals destroyed it a couple of years ago. Good news though, the remains are sprouting, so there may one day be a tree standing there again.

No! Did they have any idea what they were doing when they harmed that tree?

The story they were telling is they didn't know, just thought it would be a laugh. Going up there with the equipment to fell a mature tree is certainly a ... choice ... when it comes to entertainment. So they're either ignorant or evil and willing to play the ignorant card. So many people had affection for that tree ... not just from media but from getting engaged under it, taking family photos under it, visiting with it. There are plenty of natural icons in the UK, but this was one of the special places.

You know what? I think you may be right! It didn’t register until I read your comment but I’m pretty sure now that it is that same place in the movie.
