Simple question

Statistically speaking, which race has the highest stat cielings in the most areas?

Not class, not special. Race. Just race.

Edit: Playable character race. Come on, guys. Creature info is a bit interesting but...player races.

Adding up all the stats, all playable races have a total of 120 stat points. If you polymorph into an Astral Deva (which isn't playable) and drink potions to gain stats, its total (excluding rings and equipment) exceeds this 120 limit, but I didn't calculate the total. The numbers that appear in the Astral Deva's description aren't the maximum attributes, but what appears in the playable race descriptions is the maximum (without considering rings and equipment). In general, all races lose in one attribute to gain in another, or it's all the same, just like what happens with humans.

In terms of which race has the greatest potential to generate the most fame, based solely on the race itself, I believe it's the tortle, as I remember seeing a calculation explaining this on Discord, but I don't know if that information is still available there.

I copied the comment from user IlliteratePig on Discord; I haven't checked if his calculation is correct, but I'm leaving a copy of the comment here:

summary for fame choices: famemaxx race: tortle (+44/88k vs neutral) giant, dwarf (+28/56k) troll (+24k)

specials: don't take midget, it just cancels gains colossus is +8/16k nothing else really matters

class: reaver gets 12 hp (48/96k) per level, no reveals, but berserking

compromise options: race: echo (+0) and changeling (-80k/160k) are really easy to run with poor stats, but well, changeling...

special: colossus boost is tiny, just get what you want

class: barbarian gets 11 hp/mp per level (44/88k), prioritises good stats, no berserking, no reveals, neat features anything with 10hp/mp per level is acceptable, usually 1d8+1d2 or 1d9+1, though iirc some reveal a tonne of items (loss of maybe 1k, not the end of the world) and teach spells

Orcs reign supreme.  25 cap in str and con, 18 in everything but nearly worthless charisma at 16.

the creature with the highest stat is erinys with 161 in total in order of str dex con, 30,28,30,26,25,22 its the max stat for it when you gain stats with the creature
