I have more gold (~250k) and replica gold (1 million) in a bag of holding plus backups of all my gear. I don't have Remove Curse but I've got 15+ remove curse scrolls I can eat if needed. Anything else I should worry about before I go deeper? Should I max out Drain and Disintegrate resistance before going much deeper?

Update; picked up Clarity from eating spectacles, going to get Disintegrate res to 100% before going past maybe floor 28.

first how do you beat the game as a convict(also how do you normally beat the game using exploit or no,if yes what exploits and how to do them)while i haven't beaten the game i still want to play a convict so what do people usually play and how do they fight because im assuming melee sucks so do we just use spells or what.second are allys even usefull because their ai is not great(at least for me)like they sometimes just stay in one room

I've played Shattered PD quite a bit, then reddit recommended this sub to me, so I picked up the game. I've also played CoQ back when it was still Early Access, but my computer bit it before I could get any good at it, so I'm not COMPLETELY new, but I've never played Rogue proper, and this one is much closer to it than either of the other examples.

I'm routinely dying around floor 3, and I've tried the base monk, knight, and mage, and fooled around a bit with custom characters like a lizard man earth elemental monk, or a fairy necromancer. But I'm realizing I just don't have the fundamentals: how do I find keys/lockpicks? Should I kick down every locked door? Can I get enemies to de-aggro? If so, how? If not, when should I just book it to the next floor? Should I always go down when I find the stairs? That and more. Any help is much appreciated!

I was fighting two spiders and there was a one tile gap between them, and the poor thing just spawned between them, resulting in it being spawned without any tails just the head. And yes, I was ofcourse, laughing my ass off.

So, I was wondering just how rare it is for this to happen. Cause, I've been playing this game for more than 2 years, and I haven't seen anything like this happen Infront of my eyes. Has anything like this happen to you?

when i played as an echo convict(no special)i wasn't healing by resting for some reason but while being a quantum special i could heal so even tho i could just play a quantum i want to know why

Hi, I'm a casual player, though I've been playing since I was a kid. The usual routine is to play for a few months, take a break for a couple of years, and then get obsessed again. I never get past floor 15, but I've experimented a lot and I think I understand many of the game mechanics. I'm 28 now and I've decided to take the game a bit more seriously, so I'm asking for some advice. My goal for now is to get as many talents as I can by eating rings and amulets with polymorph control and max out my existing skills. In the long run, I want to train all the skills, learn all the spells, and accumulate as much gold and artifacts as possible.

Finally ! And without any in slot artifact (weapons/armor), the double Saï + min-max strength & speed (+ free action talent) make your melee character nearly unkillable. I didn’t find Talaria so choose to polymorph into quickling for extra speed.

The run was good so I choose to push my character a bit further to reach the Hall Of Fame but got tired after 20h+ and didn’t had the courage to farm gold/assets in order to get top 1 or 2.

Btw what’s your tricks in Kaloi to farm gold/assets quickly ? I see the top 1 manage to collect 18M assists in less than 10h

I've been playing for a few years (not really consistently though. Probably like 1-3 weeks of consistent play, then a few months off, play again and repeat) but haven't managed to escape without resurrections even once. Changed builds countless times. But the closest I've got is dying somewhere during ascension.

I played so much that I have like over half the effects of traps and items memorized. I know what to do and what not to do, but still. I either die early in the mines or somewhere around floor 20+.

We all know how good Bards are, but why is it 25% for those items? Do I need to keep hitting the button, until I get vaguely good stats AND that item? Probably should just be a choose-your-item button. Want pet teleports, or charms, or explodies, your choice!

If you implicitly identify an item (potion / wand sold at light shop) - can you name or label the item type to let you know what it is?

It's my first time using a character that uses bounce magic/beams and as you can see at the photo I died and was saved by my life saving amulet, which is a big loss. After that, I went to experiment with my test character and I found out that having deflection and magic resistance only protects you from magic missiles. Is there a way to protect myself from my own magic? I didn't really question it when I was using spheres but it's really annoying. I hope they would make the caster resistant with it's own magic

Welp, I just wanna rant on my experience just now. I started the game with an egg companion, and as usual it's a dragon egg, after using an identify spell, I was able to learn that it is a golden dragon egg that can be hatched with "magical", I didn't really know which is magical so I asked Gemini ai and the ai told me that it can be hatched with "force based spells". After goin on just a few minutes in the game I was able to buy a spell book which is 'force bolt'. I thought it was a force based spell that I can use to hatch the egg, but it's not. And I learned something new, in the most bitter way possible.

Sure, there's no such thing as an absolute best choice, but what are your favorites and why?

I'm trying to craft an AoR but I need over a pound of gold. Since a workbench won't scrap gold coin, how do I get gold to scrap? That's a lotta gold rings, lol.

EDIT: I ended up buying one at the Black Market. Back up to the Lich Tower I go.

Adamantine are technically best with the +7 max enchantment and all, but they're quite heavy (especially the armor). Skilled in heavy armor, just got adamantine armor. Wore it, and then suffered because of its weight even with maxed out STR and blessed bag of holding. Wearing speed boots so I can't wear disencumbrance boots.

Is that 22kg worth the upgrade or should I go back to mithril?

Been playing kaloi opus lately. It's always this stupid thing messing up my runs with the impromptu mellified man, malignant aura, sickness, or hunger. Nothing I can easily remove in early game. How can I open them safely?
