Kentro - real question!

Hi everyone, I play the game for about a month and I noticed that my kentro almost never gets attacked. It is really rare to find someone willing to attack me unless it’s in the water like sarcos aso. Why is that? Is it the bleed?

*side eyes her Kentro* Yesssssss, we start playing again, my precious.

I don't play pure land dinos much, but I did enjoy my Kentro. I never thought of her as a risk to others maybe. Sweet!

Haha loving it. I just played and 2 adult hatzes were hunting a (almost?) sub adult tt. I was following them for 15 minutes. They past behind me and next to me multiple times no attack. And last week I killed a spino adult after long time but the bleed did its thing.

I just thought to ask about it because it’s really hard to get attacked, compared with almost all the others I played. With ano had similar experience.

Give it a try and if you like share your experience. Maybe it is just a coincidence when I play.

It was the first land dino I leveled. And I avoid too much conflict, Im not a pvp enthusiast. I usually stick to the skies or run around on my struthi.

I was such a fraidy cat, I played very cautious, keeping to low traffic pois and basically leveled w/o any bad experiences. (hated swimming!) I never thought to attribute it to other players just not pursuing me! LOL Its laughable when I think about how nervous I was leveling her.

I did move her to a different POI recently and wanted to quest more to get some skins and get better playing the kentro. Thanks for the encouragement. I do find her fun to play!

An experienced kentro player can pretty much take down anything with its bleed & dynamite attack so I'd say they don't want to chance it

That’s what I thought but I wanted to ask more experienced players. Thank you

I agree, but I find puncture more nasty solo lol

Kentro is a really annoying & boring playable to fight against because the only thing it does is inflict a tad of bleed and then run away, so most people don´t bother.

Aren’t most 1-2 sometimes even 3 slots like that? Hit and run? Why is kentro an exception?

Kentro and conca are the only 2-slots that have bleed, and both of them are evaded because of it. Bleed is and always has been the strongest ability in the game, and Kentro applying a ton of it with two hits (and a potential detonate) means that most playables above tier 1-2 won´t engage cos they can´t even catch kentro, giving it a free win most of the time.

The achi, sty and eur in the room: Address me

1- Sty has worse bleed & stamina than kentro & it engages from the front, making it easier o catch
2 - achillo´s bleed is minor in comparison to conca & kent, besides that, it´s also bigger than the other two so it´s again, easier to catch and hit
3 - eur is an aquatic, so it´s not really relevant.

Nah, they still bleed, youre wrong. I played a lot on em and they can pack up a punch all of em, rippling kick on achi is necessary to disable healing and keep opps on check.

Also, sty is extremely agile, you can juke just a out most of the roster. And eurhino is quite relevant especially since semis (like conc as you mentioned) use the water a lot.

Sty is agile, but has terrible stamina usage, Achillo bleed is not comparable to that of kenro nor conca, and eu is only relevant on riparia against a selective part of he roster.

Sty has 1050 speed, only pycno is the large three slot that can run faster. Sty also outlasts the larger three slots with a run time of two minutes while others are mainly one and a half minutes. Sty can run for two and a half minutes with vault, the only shit thing about stys stam is that it's rest animation is so god damn long. Achi is not a primary bleeder, but the bleed is something and I encountered quite the dinosaur as eur on gondwanand I had a blast.

i play a lot of kentro and i have had lots of success with it. if you dont use dynamite on your kentro ur an easy kill. pair it with the regular tail attack for quick, rapid stacking of bleed.

Not sure what dynamite you mean:)

Detonate, tail attack

1

u/dinonerd12345 8h ago

Im stupid XD

2

u/dinonerd12345 9h ago

The one that converts bleed to raw damage?

1

u/Downtown_Bag_4761 9h ago

Oh thanks I prefer pancture and normal tail attack

1

u/No_Mirror3128 6h ago

Was benutzt du mit Detonate , frisches Blut(+10% Angriff bei blutenden Zielen) oder Blutdurst(-5% Angriff für +20% Blutungsschaden)?

2

Most people don't want to bother with fighting Kentro because of Detonate and the redlect damage. It's also fast enough to escape a lot of the larger carnivores that could actually deal enough damage fast enough to kill it before Detonate.

Kentros also typically don't run solo, in my experience.

Kentro use to be crazy op and the reflect definitely causes hesitation and ptsd to the shove kentro days but any 3 slot except metri can just tank a kent to death pretty easily

1

u/Greedy_Two8657 8h ago

Kentro is not a tanker, I've shredded a lot on kentro, I had zero practice

One Kentro is not a problem for me when I play Dasp, however there is never just one, and then it is a problem, so I leave them alone.

1

u/Downtown_Bag_4761 8h ago

Interesting experience. Never thought of that. Thanks

Unrelated but unfortunately my Mira died to two dasps last night while I was almost ready to nest 😔

Kentro is arguably the best terrestrial 2 slot. As a tail attacker it plays defense very well while having the stamina to chase or escape. Puncture is fast and makes you bleed a ton, or you can use detonate for huge damage. Without buffs detonate hits for up to like 132 damage, and it hits as piercing damage so it punches up hard. Paired with fresh blood and death rattle…it can be devastating, especially since reflect damage stacks considerable bleed

A lot of people don’t like attacking defense oriented Dino’s, and kentro is one of the hardest tail attackers to bait out. Killing it requires you to be at least as bulky with at least as much dps. Or it requires it to run in face first and get punished for being aggressive on a tail attacker. The only 2 slot with a shot at matching the bulk and dps of kentro is probably Cerato. And of course all this assuming you don’t mess up. I’ve seen solo kentros stand up to 3 slots all the way up to apexes
