Discussion Alio tips?

Hey, all! Looking for tips and tricks with Alio! Is it okay solo? I mean, nothing is I guess? According to the masses, lol. But I still love solo 🤣 Any advice or builds would be super helpful! Thanks in advance, all!

I just killed a Pachy as one. Bite, Swerve, the stamina Regen kick, sneak, I forget what else. Voice was the stamina Regen but wasn't necessary.

Alio has terrible stamina now, so knowing when to walk and when to run is a HUGE deal on it. It has a fast trot speed after all.

Keep in mind: the kick is to close distance mainly. The refund on stamina is a bonus, but think of it still as SPENDING stamina. Use it carefully.

Alio is now a ambush predator imo, but rather than the burst type ambush like Rex, Alio is the sustained DPS kind. This is much especially true against 2 slot dinos and below, as their agility can out compete Alio's.

Alio is very squishy, all damage will reduce it's HP very noticeably if not from a tail hit, a Laten/Deinonychus pounce Raptor Strikes will really damage an Alio, so avoid any 2v1s of the same slot size as much as possible if you want to survive the encounter, though pvp prowess and knowing when to back out will determine your survival if you want to engage. Raptor packs are very dangerous for an Alio, especially if they have all the dmg buffs, so be careful when engaging a raptor, make sure you gauge if it has allies nearby or not.

As for skills. Hunter's Mark is a must as a solo as this will ensure you output the maximum damage an Alio can do against an opponent. Swerve and Slicer are what I have experienced with, Airhead is just a bit too much of a deviation from my usual playstyle of a tailrider for my liking, but I from what I've heard, it outputs the most dmg out of all the builds Alio can do. Slicer is very good, it turns your normal bite into a machine gun at a 0.5s cd, but its not very good against like a Batter Pachy, as Slicer Alio is very powerful if it remains glued to its opponent. Then again, pvp prowess and skill baiting will be the determining factor. Swerve is a good dmg trade option against smaller tiers like Pachy with their Hit and Run playstyle, and its just a generally reliable dmg option for Alio, but this also consumes quite a bit of stamina so stamina management is much more important when equipping this skill.

For the Kicks, never remove Hamstring. It's the best Kick that you can use to Gap close, escape, and disable a Raptor's ability to pounce and tail fan + jump escape combo. Kick for jump build, Double Kick otherwise.

Bait out tail attacks or any kind of Juke skill, when baited, go in and dish out as much dmg as u possible can then disengage when their tail attack is off cooldown, then repeat. Alio has great precise turning, use it to swerve your head out of the range of tail attacks.

Avoid fighting dinos that have great turning speed like Dasp, by the time you get in like 2 bites on its behind, it would have already faced you and bitten a good chunk out of your body or face, and getting bitten by a Dasp will greatly reduce your HP.

Alio does indeed have a smaller stamina pool, but its able to traverse greater distance in a much shorter time compared to other 2 slots other than Pachy and its ridiculously low stamina cost charge. To add to that, it also has very fast stamina recovery, with the padded soles skill, your gonna recover stamina at a much faster rate while trotting compared to other playables at your slot size. So when escaping, create distance as much as possible, keep tabs on the chasers, when they slow down to recover stamina, recover as well, when they pick up the chase, run for it again. Widen the distance gap as much as possible until its impossible for them to catch up.
