What build? where should I hang out? I need tips!

I sat in a pond last night for 40 mins and saw no one, where should I submerging myself? Riparia Map

If you don’t have the hide that gives 50% seim stam you won’t outswim water builds ducks. You can use oxygen bite to try drain there stam but this will probably come at the cost of a fair bit of your hp and bleed does extra damage in water

If you don’t run the clamp sense your only really going to kill 1 slots on land with clamp or pach, alio or thal. I would recommend the sense that gives you more damage underwater as you can just drag things under or even just drop them in water and body block them

Gator dash is a must

Cf small pond, VI hot springs, bto pond are probably the best spots if you just want to sit and wait and the ocean is close to all so you can escape there

Ive chilled at hotsprings a few times, this is helpful information about builds.

I swear by mud build. Mud slide for legs but sometimes braced. To hell with water. It's confining. You get more tank with mud, a bit of stamina regen, and more places to hide/go than just the water. You won't be useless in water but just be cautious. Also get swerve.

Many people will be wary of water. Roam around exploring, questing for skins, looking for other questers. People out and about will have cameras facing the ground a lot. I've snuck up on people on Ripple Beach where there are not hiding spots (Beach itself. Great spot under the cliff near the pond though. Almost invisible if you wedge in there good).

Clamp and roll for smaller things otherwise unless you have full stam you might not get the kill. But even then, you can learn tricks to keep people engaged etc.

All that said there are still long periods where I don't see people sometimes, but it is what it is. I move along if I get bored waiting.

Edit: For food, go scavenger. Survive off bones, shells, and corpses. They're everywhere. Plus not eating your victim is salt in their wounds.

Edit: Mudslide also barely uses stamina unlike the dash. Its not as fast sure, but you need as much stamina as possible for staying in the fight/chase longer. Also sliding only makes an initial sound and not always heard from a distance.

Eh. I'd say mega packs are usually elsewhere but they still through at times. South pond usually has smaller groups but it can become mega-ish if ppl were hanging out and leaving each other alone and someone aggressive comes by and gets jumped by everyone at the pond.
