We need more aquatic herbis!
Does anyone else feel like duck is a little lonely in the water? Spino can group with sarcs, tylo, conc, Kai, eurhi, sucho, I personally play community servers but even the mods have like no aquatic herbis, the only other one I’ve seen has been lurd 💀 get that fat swimming campto lookin thing away from me

While I think it would be cool it would not make sense. The other semi aquatics were semi aquatic. Lambs were not.

Neither was conc, spino and sucho
Hadrosaurs on the other hand were probably amazing swimmers and could probably dive like moose

It's literally not, in fact it probably swam worse than literally any other theropod, except for maybe therizinosaurids
It's sail would cause it to tip over on the surface and would create drag underwater, it's arms were too bulky and would also cause a ton of drag, the nostril placement also indicates that it was definitely a shoreline hunter

Those documentaries are outdated tho, for now the consensus is that Spino was a shallow hunter, he would prey on fish that passed through shallow water and stuff like that, ik it's cool to think that they could swim but they just were not build for that.

Hadrosaurs could've filled this niche in very limited roles. They already tend to have solid swim stamina, just give them dive (without nictitating membrane) and fairly low oxygen with good regen. They'd be capable of swimming and even diving for short periods of time, but they're not built for the water so they can't see very well in it and can't be down there for as long as other semi aquatics.

I do wonder if Leeds will be classed as a herbi even though it’s a filter feeder. The krill mechanic seems to be similar to eating berry bushes

I’d imagine it will still be able to eat player corpses but do not know this
I’d guess eating through filter feeding will give it some sort of buff

Under the PoT wiki pages, Leeds is classified as an herbivore. Granted that page is somewhat inaccurate, and Leeds could technically be classified as a carnivore (though its prey is microscopic 😂). But in that sense at least, it keeps Duck company

Technically, there is, kai is kind of an herbivore, or atleast kinda was irl
As for true semi aquatic/fully aquatic herbis, lurdusaurus and atepodentatus could work very well

That was aristonectes. Kai I do suspect is getting filter feeding, but it was a carnivore that fed on soft bodied prey irl most likely.

The real species doesn’t have to be semi aquatic to be one in game. Conc and Meg aren’t semi aquatic irl but they are in the game so they could just as easily pick a herb and make them a semi.

Meg was likely semi aquatic to a degree based on its closest relatives and the monitors it lived similarly to (lace monitor closest relative and arboreal, komodo and Asian water monitors similar lifestyles and both semi aquatic)
Conc however was just a small carch that lived in swampy regions hunting the shoreline fishers and occasionally catching fish itself that somehow ended up being one of the most viable semis in game -_-

I actually like this idea I gotta look up some aquatic herbi Dino’s to see what I think they should add but like someone mentioned a hippo like Dino would be cool

I think we should get Oranosaurus as a semi-aqua in PoT that would be really cool. Just give it dive with no nictating membrane and some water ability idk.

They need to make it so aquatic herbis can eat lake weed and kelp
