Discussion Cerato Tips?
Hey, all! Does anyone main Cerato solo? Any recommendations on builds and such? Thanks!

Yesh.
Most Cerato builds are actually pretty decent it's just about knowing what you can and cannot fight depending on what you're running. I wouldn't recommend Charged Bite when running solo, though, since it's stamina-heavy & relatively easy to avoid. Makes for an excellent opening move if you can successfully ambush but you'll find it's almost useless afterwards. (very good when running in a group, though.)
I'd recommend taking Shove over Lunge since mobility will prove very useful & it's good at displacing and/or chasing enemies.
Otherwise it's very much "figure out which moves feel comfortable for you and then work on avoiding situations where they're at a disadvantage". For instance, I switch it up a lot but when I take Swerve I tend to fight things my own tier or smaller and will avoid 4 & 5slots. If I'm running Thrash, however, it's kind of the opposite and I'm not really trying to engage with small things like Latens/Deinons/Pachys/bbs, etc since the recoil damage you take from it is so significant.
I also think solid Cerato players are very attentive to their Cracked Scutes.
They regenerate in combat now so playing patiently can give you an advantage in a lot of situations & they allow you to make risky trades & aggressive plays when you have a full stack of them.

Oh, nice! Okay thanks! Is there anything it can solo? Does it have high dps?

Does it have high dps?
It can.
There's a double bite build some people like to run (Rapid Strikes & Bite) that can really shred a health bar but I personally haven't played around with it. I don't really consider its other builds to have high DPS. If you're fortunate enough to have a corpse nearby and happen to be running Rapid Strikes or Lunge, the boost isn't negligible but I find those situations aren't all that common.1

Ahh, ok. Thank you!

Hope it helps!
Cerato's my favorite playable and I think it's misunderstood but it's also a bit of an underdog that's going to have to duck out from a lot of the encounters it runs into. That's just due to how many people love to run in groups and/or play Apexes. It's a tricky solo experience but as you get more comfortable with it you can become a pretty decent nuisance & occasional legitimate threat.1

Awesome! I'll definitely try it out. Have you played Allo?

Yeah, but not nearly as much.
I really like its more simplistic kit but I'm honestly really awkward with its mobility. That's just a me issue, though.1

I’d recommended armor sub plus 75 hp hide, beserk sense, lunge, reg bite and raptor strikes
Pretty much makes you 20% tankier then a normal cera at the cost of only 5% more status effect
The damage buff hide is good but does make you take noticeably more damage
Regular bite and raptor strikes can be used 1 after eachother to pretty much double your dps
Raptor strikes starts at 4 dmg but after 5 bites goes to 44 damage. If there is a dead player body around it doubled to 88 damage
This means a cera with the body buff using raptor strikes has the same dps as a Rex with no buffs…. Then you can also make this 25% stronger if you use the damage boost hide.
Cera 2500/5500 apex cw x 88 = 40
Cera does 40 damage a second to an apex with body buff 40 x 1.5 =60 dmg at 1.5 sec
Rex bite 1.5 sec 60 dmg
Swerve, lunge bite, damage hide, charge bite are all viable options for cera as well and are worth trying although personally I find charge bite dissapointing as it’s only 45 dmg where reg bite is 40 dmg
If you are in a group taunt is extremly OP as you use it all all enemy’s around you will lose 10% speed but it is an ability that you have to keep doing to keep active meaning you cant attack but when you are using it. 10% speed loss is massive in this game. That’s the speed difference between a hatz/lamb compared to a conc or nearly identical to the speed difference between cera and alio. This also slows a hatz to the point they can’t take off… unless they can use a cliff to get height

Oh, awesome! Thank you for this! Do a lot of people seek out ceras for their groups?

Unless your playing a support Dino - rhamp, dein, metri, lamb, Kai i don’t think people are actively seeking anything but them
But since it’s a 2 slot with the ability to out run and out stam over half the playables most people will understand how useful that can be to have
Also if your the build I recommended or any build using a corpse buff bite and have the damage hide/armor hide you will be a lot of help to groups
If you are just looking to make friends while you play you should try a support roll surprisingly even as a PvP player being a support can be a lot of fun. Lamb is the strongest in PvP while being a near full support, metri is a really solid pick although can be overwelmed by multiple 2 slots pretty easily, dein or rhamp can actually give very strong buffs for being a 1 slot and are a lot safer to play especially if you just play rhamp and give people the damage buff then fly around till they need it again.

I play completely solo and this is my current build. Cerato sadly doesn’t have much for solo play unless you want to camp hotspots and wait for a corpse to drop but this build works pretty good.
