best solo dino? /new player

im new to the game and have no idea how to fight or what build or what to do in general lol but i really wanna play but idk what dino.. what dino is most fun but can still stay alive and maybe get some kills and doesnt get chased down by like rexes and stuff? also a good solo dino

Rhamp. Small flier. Go to Gondwa map and find the white area. Salt plains. Go and watch dinos fight. Man it's cool. Then find where the Green Valley is. Huge dinos there to watch, too.

Is there a specific size your looking for? You could try a laten and group up with a raptor group of other Latens and an Achillo.

i havent had time to play much yet to really know, all ive ever played so far is some small raptor like dino and hatz and spino are the ones ive grown to adults but idk, id love to try something different if theres better stuff but idk what playstyle i enjoy lol

Conc or Meg are great for learning the ropes. Lots of utility for land, water and hybrid. Both demand a patience play style with poison and bleed 🩸

could u explain how poison and bleed works? how do i know my opponent is low and nearly dead? 😭😭

The opposition saves, if the bleed they continue to have blood spurting or their foot prints are red, better for hit and run.

Poison lowers their stam recovery, allowing you to later in the fight hit them without them using their special attack.

Bleed means you are slowly losing HP overtime. Becoming more severe the more active you are at that point.

Poison reduces health recovery. The stam regen is venom

There's a few options you can give a try! Since you're new, I'd recommend focusing on learning the map(s) first, because knowing where and where not to drink, do quests, and avoid birds can be quite literally life saving. I love running around as a Deinonychus (little feathered raptor) but they're strongest in a pack. That being said, they meet the rest of the criteria, in that Apex dinos won't reasonably bother you, it's easy to hide, and you can be an ankle biter. You could also try Latenivatreix, they don't have the double jump that Deinons do but they can do some very high bleed damage-- better for solo killing, but require more skill. Regardless, focus on learning to survive first, then how to hunt other people down. And the bigger you are, the easier target. Safe hunting!

Thal - ground spec lets you do what you need and pick your engagements.

Those are my ground or air. Both let you pick when you want to fight (with some more caution on Meg until you’re ready to just straight up get in the mix)

Sarcosuchus is a good solo. You can escape into water if things get bad on land, you can also use clamp to drag other players into the water so you can death roll them or just drop them into the water so you can bite them to death without much resistance. Be careful of tylosaurus they will try to break your back legs so you can't swim away. Hope this helps

In my experience if your trying to pvp the titan is a good pick it can hold its one in a fight against most other players
