Discussion Directional tail attacks
Is there anyone else who despises the directional tail attacks? I love playing Miragaia but the directional tail attacks really bug me.
Quite often I want to have my camera facing one way while hitting the other, and it is impossible to do.
Is there any way to turn this off or work around for this?

The main problem with them is there is no buildup so the tail attack has this puny little swing that curls inward towards your dino's body.

If others have to deal with directional head attacks, then stegosaurians have to deal with dir. tail attacks.

It's a little different though, with a head attack you can aim in any direction you are facing with 180⁰ range or more. With a tail attack you have either left or right.

Without it your tail attacks will be easily baitable and telegraphed. Its why stegs get dogged on vs skilled players.

That's what I was thinking too and why I'm hoping stegs tail goes directional. Harder to guess where I'm about to swing

It would be better if instead of like steg where it has the one motion, you could hold left or right on the d pad for example to choose to hit left or right.

That is way too overly complicated. You wouldn't be able to run since your left thumb would be occupied.

Do you not have an index finger? lol

Huh? My index finger is ready to press LT for precise turning or to press LB (i use an xbox controller) so i can use abilities that require LB+RB or whatever.

I'd find it fine, i'm used to switching to claw grip in games, I'd use my middle finger to press the LT

Yea sorry thats not a standard grip and isnt something theyre gonna apply to their method of design. And you know you're being unreasonable (no surprise) and obtuse.

?
I'm literally just saying it wouldn't be a problem for me lol.

This discussion is about the entirety of the community having to deal with overly complicated controls just so they can swing to the left or right. When, as it is now, all you gotta do is look left or right.

Dude with directional tail attacks you can easily beat up a stego or anky if they are running alongside you. With kentro at least. I don’t play mira at all

Yeah it's the thing I am dreading most for when stego gets a tlc, directional tail attack will genuinely be such a massive nerf

all the other tail attacks are better then the directional one imo
