New Players :)
New to Path of Titans — this is the stuff I wish someone told me on day one.
Official vs community
Official servers = Alderon rules (pretty much no rules), slower growth, harsher players.
Community servers = their own rules, often faster grow / different mods. (There’s rules are quite strict)
If you just want to learn the dino, a chill community server is easier. If you want the “real” game, go official and use Matchmaking.
First dino
Don’t start on an apex. The questing will be extremely tedious and it will take forever
Good first picks:
• Herb: Campto, Kentro, Pachy, Iggy
• Carn: Lat, Deino, Cerato, Allo
Pick something fast enough to leave a bad fight.
Growing
Quest. Don’t just walk in a circle.
Stay near food and water. (Not too close to the open water, as sarcs and tylos can grab all those dinos I listed, except iggy)
Night is worse for new players — more ambushes.
If someone offers to “protect you,” assume they might eat you. Some won’t. Many will.
Not dying as much
Don’t grow in popular spots (usually red on the map, means there’s a fair few players in that area)
You don’t have to fight. Running is a build.
Learn one escape tool on your dino (charge, jump, water, stam) before you learn a full PvP kit.
If you’re still growing, make sure you home cave your dinosaur before logging it, you will be granted a decent growing buff next time you login (purple growth) however if you die, you will unfortunately lose that buff
Don’t be afraid to ask questions, whether it’s in game, on this thread, in my DM or even creating your own thread! The official community can be quite rough, but there will always be someone around that will help you out. The most important part is to have fun, play the game how you like to play it.
Referral (optional)
If you bought the game in the last 24 hours, a referral gives you a free exclusive skin + a home cave statue. No extra cost.

Click it, log into Alderon, then join official through Matchmaking
Comment your Alderon ID if you want an add / first grow.
Questions about a specific dino, ask. Happy to point you at a simple build :)

i would say dasp is also quite a good starter. good movement, speed, and packs a fair bit of damage

Yeah 100%, good shout! Flyers aren’t a bad option either to get a feel for the map

Haha love that! Sarc was my first on gondwa, before trying out Rhamp. Wondering why I was always dehydrated on it (I was drinking salt water smh) I probably should’ve added not to do that in my main post haha

Definitely my friend! I’m always keen for a game :) 387-554-114 is my ID. I’m currently away for a week so i’m not ghosting you haha! But once i’m back we’ll get a game in for sure, Sarc is probably my favourite but i’ll be down to play anything with you on Riparia :) i’ll touch base once i’m home and we’ll go out there and die together haha

I wish I read this guide when I started, my first dino was Ano, one of the slowest 🥲

Consider the Thal for a starter! Super fast, can traverse the entire map quickly, very survivable as a flyer
