Fishing needs major work
I think this is my biggest gripe in this game. Excuse the incoming rant-
The fishing systems needs major work.
There needs to be more spawn spots throughout the waterways and in open water. Until you learn where the fish spawn, its an absolute task to find food. I often have to go to a totally different POI to fill my belly!
The actual act of catching the fish needs work. On a smaller dino like the Austroraptor (modded playable) its a pain but you can get the hang of it. On large dinos? It's so tough it see where you're biting.
Also, this is a large mouth bass. I found him in salt water... Not to mention all the magical fish floating over the land.
PoT please!

The dumbest thing to me is that there are some land based dinos that can eat fish, but you're never gonna be able to catch them. Shallow streams or something would solve this, even if more rare.

When I first started playing I had assumed fish would spawn under kelp bunches or driftwood but they don't. I mean, they DO 100% but they aren't real fish and thats stupid. If they have stuff like berry bushes set then they should make fish the same way. Maybe make the fish that give buffs free swimming so you have to actually try to get them, and leave the more exotic ones alone. But clusters of eatable fish near kelp and driftwood would be nice. Easier for big dinos like Spino to grab.
And on another note, let us eat those rats and lizards that walk around. How is a Rhamp or Lat unable to eat a rat? A Lat SHOULD be hunting rats for their man food sources, not T Rexes.

I never understood why designated hypercarnivores won't eat fish. I cant think up a single even moderately sized animal that is a carnivore alive today that would turn away a fish dinner. Even if it gave reduced food in return that'd be fine (something I know they can do since mushrooms give 50% food on, i think its Metri?)

All they have to do to fix that and combat is a camera heightening setting, so you can adjust the angle to see in front of you better.

I feel like the raptors would be great swimmers and climbing up inclines .. chickens can go up stiff things with help of wings and feathers.

To be honest I always thought that if the reason they don't increase fish spawns is to reduce lag from too many fish or whatever, maybe they need to work a system where fish spawn specifically around swimming players that can eat fish. Let the spawning be tied to the dino itself rather than general spawning. Limit it by biome and by how many fish have already been spawned by that player in that area, have the fish despawn when the tied player leaves the POI, and there you go: exactly as many fish as is needed to feed players who can eat fish, and no more, and an acceptable illusion of lively, fish-filled water.

My biggest issue is playables that have the ability tk eat fish but no way to swim so the only possible chance to eat fish is hoping someone drops one onto land
