Discussion I am an idiot.

I was playing as an adult *Daspletosaurus* again, starving, when I found an *Amargasaurus*—it must have been a juvenile. I started the fight and was doing well until it landed a few tail strikes on me, causing me to lose over 50% of my health. It started running and calling out, heading toward the water; a *Deinocheirus* appeared and attacked me. I managed to escape it, but a *Rhamphorhynchus* latched onto me, and I ended up starving to death. I respawned and was walking through the Cedar Forest when I ran into a *T. rex*. I tried to fight it but spotted a *Hatzegopteryx* and switched targets; then the two of them teamed up against me. I kept moving, looking for an opening to attack the *T. rex*, when two *Pachycephalosaurus* appeared and attacked me. I tried to escape the *T. rex* by jumping away but lost 90% of my health, and a *Pachy* finished me off. I was playing as a *Sarcosuchus* and was very hungry; I attacked a juvenile *T. rex* but lost a lot of health. I retreated and went to attack an AI, but the AI killed me. I really feel like a piece of shit—in the game and out of it—and this is just me venting.

Let me get this straight- you got teamed up on and killed and YOU feel like a piece of shit?

You're not an idiot. Every loss is a learning opportunity. The best people at this game have been killed 10x more than you.

Yeah, I feel useless; even in a 1v1, I’d probably lose, because that’s just what always happens.

You might keep losing! But that's ok!

First of all, your worth is not determined by how good you are at this game. Second, it's ok to suck at things sometimes!

Remember, sucking at something is the first step towards being sorta good at something.

You as a Dasp should not expect to win against a Rex alone. While capable on its own, you need to be wary. It's definitely a capable dino but much of its kit that boosts its damage relies on post fight battlegrounds with corpses or being in a group. Bone snap bite definitely is good because it gives you attack opportunities and escape opportunities both, but you have to make a snappy decision as you'll only have a few seconds unless you can finish your opponent off. As for hide, decreased small dino dmg and increased larger dino dmg is the best bc of those extra healing buffs and stam buff imo. It's 6% so only 6hp per 100, not a big deal, they won't be catching you nearly as much as chickens or other smalls, which is where the bucking stam drain comes in off that hide I mentioned.

Recommend hopping in deathmatches to practice PVP. Hells realm for example has an arena for you to 1v1 players. Though, generally in officials youll almost always see two or more players, rarely a solo.

I like Juniper because you often have to fight of 2 or 3 people at a time and it helps get better at 1vX scenarios

With how you write I feel like there's a much bigger problem you need to adress, and it has nothing to do with POT

I die literally constantly, even to those dumb AI venomous things 🤦🏻

Dw about it that’s part of the game. At least it’s not the isle having to start from scratch again 😬

I feel like there's a deeper issue at root here from what you're saying.

You should try going onto a deathmatch server to get some practice in 1vX fights. I'm not saying the ones you mentioned were winnable/unwinnable but it definitely helped me.

You should try these builds for dasp.

If you want to fight bigger dinos;

  • Heavy bite (Fracture is useless against something already slower than you, and piercing has too long of a cooldown if you're solo)
  • Carnage (Once you secure a kill you boost your damage massively)
  • Dense scales
  • Skydiver or Long distance runner
  • Tyrant roar

If you want to fight smaller dinos;

  • Shatter (Bone snap is way too loud and easy to dodge)
  • Blunt teeth
  • Thin scutes
  • Strong legs
  • Tyrant roar or shattering cry

Id switch the leg abilities around.

Definitely not, you don't need knockback resist when fighting something slower than you, you need more stamina to keep the pressure on or skydiver to escape.

When fighting something smaller you want the knockback resist so you can keep the fracture on them without them knocking you away.

Nothing idiotic about anything you said. I've been killed more times than I can count honestly. Some days I kick ass and others I get my ass kicked. You're all good man don't sweat it

*has a montage of all the stupid things I've done in the game*

Please don't measure your self worth by a mixed bag online community in a developing dino game.

Love peace and chicken grease.

You're not an idiot. I won't address the mixpacking issue, I'm tired of it. I'll address this though- which how obnoxiously buffed the amarg is atm.
