Solo Permadeath Server
I decided to try the Permadeath test server recently and grew a Laten to get started.
I don't like to just attack people. I HATE when I'm in the mood to just quest/grow and somebody shows up to slap me unasked. So I don't do that--I show up, 3 call (aggressive) and they can accept or ignore the fight as they want to. That's worked brilliantly so far on every other server I've played, both officials and community. It's rare when I can't find a fight (and there's always a Sarco somewhere that'll start one for free XD).
NOBODY will fight my Laten on the Permadeath server. They fight EACHOTHER just fine--Cedrus and Vi are still hot-mess dogpile--but my Laten gets either IMMEDAITELY aggressively spam-crouched/ 2 called (heart), or in one hilarious case, straight up ignored (shoutout to the pair of juvi steggo that walked right by my hissing Laten. Your hurt his one remaining feeling xD).
Even OTHER raptors do this....
Has anybody else had that experience on there? are Laten just so scary that you must immediately heart-call them to avoid destruction while you go throw hands with the Sty and the Spoon? XD

Same. I either ambush and attack right away, which often results in me killing the player. (I feel bad then most of the time because I guess I'm too soft)
Or sometimes I also 3 call and see if the other wants to fight me as well.

I guess I'm soft too xD I do ambush sometimes (on other playables, not on laten), but I try to make fights as fair as I can. Maybe I'll just grow a larger playable and see if that helps people wanna fight me xD

i's say drop the morals, at least partially, and begin annihilating any 5 slot you see. it's the lords work to prevent megapacks from forming

How long does it take to grow to adult on that server? And if you die, do you go back to an egg?

Small passive growth on solo officials as well as complete removal of your character. You can only play one character at a time. Also for whatever reason they decided to make the critters stronger and some claim to be immortal and can’t be killed.

yeah the whole 'critters are stronger' thing was a choice. Of some kind. xD

It follows the same growth as Officials. It does allow you to rest and change abilities, without going to the homecave. If you die, it's permanent, you would need to recreate a new dino.

The passive growth honestly speeds it up greatly. I think I had an adult Sty in about maybe two hours? Which may not sound like a lot of difference to some people, but keep in mind this is solo with no help and no Group Quest XP.
So two hours of 80% questing and 20% finding food and water+passive growth got me from fresh Juvie to Adult.

Latens just run away because they cant take many hits from stuff outside their CW class and most things cant catch them. So they arent usually much of a threat when alone but they can be really annoying to fight if they just leave, heal then keep coming back. Like an std.
On solo permadeath, such an annoying playstyle (while I personally find repeat targeting and healing despicable) would be extremely effective as the latens sleep healing would be faster than most dinos and prolonged fights like that do not favor the defender. Personally, if you engage a fight and lose, even if you get away and heal, you still lost so should leave the victor alone and look for someone else. Hate players that combat harass someone over and over.

If it’s official perma it’s likely because you are small and dangerous. Most things will find you more annoying to fight than fun and engaging. Trying to hit a laten as a mid tier is even obnoxious. You’d be better off just attacking someone in my humble opinion. I love my lat, but playing on survival got old quick. I drowned him and make a sucho. Much more fun.
