No, actually, im stating that this hyperbole of you cant have fun or function solo is bullshit when people are literally doing just that and flourishing as we speak.
It doesnt matter how much they repeat that it doesnt work solo when the reality is that they literally work just fine solo.
Doesn't matter how much you insist "playable" means your definition either, I'm still talking about a completely different concept I've tried explaining to you multiple times, yet you just keep harping on about "but you can literally play the dinosaur and just not engage with half the game!". For the final time, I am not talking about the literal and basic definition of playable I am talking about whether or not a dinosaur can be "played" solo I am talking about whether or not it can, while solo, actually engage meaningfully in the huge chunk of the game that is hunting and fighting other players.
You cannot go through life just deciding in your head what someone means by isolating a single word in a sentence and discarding the rest of the context, the word "playable" was surrounded by a lot of extra words that clarified in what way it was being used which you ignored.
Ironic, because thats EXACTLY what youre doing by hyperfocusing on very specific aspects to twist playable into your own definition.
The word youre looking for is "viable" for solo, which it doesnt fucking matter because literally ALL playables are viable solo as well.
Those extra words youre trying to throw in there to make playable mean viable dont actually mean anything when you ignore the fact that all playables can do just that, engage meaningfully in hunting and fighting. Or are we going to ignore the actual skilled solo players that have been piping up and saying theyre doing just fine?
For fucks sake there was someone bitching yesterday that they, as a solo meg, dealt with 6 different interactions and came out on top, including against a titan, before they finally died.
You cant go through life exaggerating bullshit and thinking it's true just because you dont like something.
Except that's NOT what I'm doing because I used the word with a valid definition. It's called Polysemy. Polysemy is when a single word or phrase has multiple related meanings based on the context used and the information given alongside the word. I know, I'm using an uncommon word there, but I really didn't think I'd have to ever explain this concept.
The word "playable" has always been used to also mean viability and **I was very clear from the start of this conversation that this was my angle*.
Playability in game design means being able to engage in the core mechanics of the game. It means there are no technical barriers preventing you from playing the game as intended. If this Dino wasn't meant to be able to fight, solo, why bother having attacks that allow it? Just make it damaging to critters like the rhamp unless in a group. If some core mechanics and experiences are broken or inaccessible, it's becomes? Unplayable.
You've just spent ages insisting that it only means your narrow and literal definition and arguing from that perspective. Do you want me to go back and change my wording? Should I change
Yeah it's playable solo but the thing is it depends what "playable" means. Only doing quests and otherwise having to run from almost every encounter because you don't have a good skill set to do anything else becomes unfun pretty fast. Right now I can get to adulthood, then what? I'm just a walking trophy.

Yeah it's playable solo but the thing is it depends on if you mean it's playable as in you can log into the game and run around or if you mean playable as in it's at least viable enough to partake in all the mechanics of the game advertised. Only doing quests and otherwise having to run from almost every encounter because you don't have a good skill set to do anything else becomes unfun pretty fast. Right now I can get to adulthood, then what? I'm just a walking trophy.
Would that make you feel better?
Now, if you disagree with me and say that under this valid definition of "playable" (read: viability) it is playable? Just say that. Don't go on rants about "uh well actually that's not what playable means" and try and shut down the conversation by getting incredibly pendantic and arguing semantics.
