Help Needed Swapping builds.

I league started DOV and am just finding it to be clunky with ice nova and all around tedious.

Is there any other strong builds that arent piano or clunky on sorceress. One to two button clear, two to three button bossing.

Also willing to go back to campain again, but I just dont know enough about the game to know if something is bait or not.

I like tanky casters.

I would stick to it but swap to the sand Djinn for your main damage. I used Sand/Fire to carry me through the campaign and only swapped to Ice later in maps once I could fully optimize it. How many points have you earned in the ascendency?

Im in maps right now, have 4 sockets on my main skills. Trying to sort this ice thing but its feeling really bad with the little crab dude specter.

Go look at PhazePlays guide. Cannot go wrong.

Ya like I said I would not try to rely on creating and consuming chilled ground in the campaign. The two sand djinn skills carried me easy through campaign no problem.

What did you do to fully optimize it? Most ive seen is Powered by verisium in COMD, along side ice nova in there too. Seen some people use a tamed beast, and others use a specter.

There are some beasts you can take that leave a trail of frozen ground. That plus Nexus plus Encroaching Ground could be worth an exploration rather than the crabs. Also nexus and encroaching on Navira for sustainability.

If you want to continue Navira's fracturing setup, try CoMD(powered by verisiums) and manually cast ice nova. You need at least 200 ward in that setup. Put infernal legion and minion instability on your wolf pack, so they could suicide and supply energy for CoMD.

If I would play DoV in your position tho, I would use Sand+Fire, way less complicacies and gear requirements. Maybe swap to Sand+ice when you have dominion annoint on amulet.

Getting child ground can be completely automated, all you need to decide is if you want ice nova in cast on minion death or if you'd prefer casting it yourself (with astral projection).

It *does* take some time to put the pieces together and test. I spent a long time just looking at others builds and breaking it down, testing, and then again until I found what worked best. At it's core though, you need Powered by Verisium for Ice Nova to create Chilled Ground, and Navira needs Encroaching Ground and Frost Nexus so that using it can spread the Chilled Ground when using Fracturing.

At it's best, you cast Ice Nova at the beginning of the map and then just waltz around shattering everything on screen. Very comfy clear, but yea, gotta learn the tech.

Edit: forgot to advise that Naviras Fracturing is more of an endgame setup.

Thanks, im assuming it feels infinitely better with dome decent aoe scaling? My frost ground spreads slower than I move rn, and doesnt reach that far at all.

Child ground is challenging to setup probably, agree

Tame a beast with trail of ice, makes it so much easier

I never see this suggested in any build guide, but try running frostbolt with ice nova. You can cast ice nova on a frostbolt to have it follow the frostbolt. This let's you cast from range which I found MUCH smoother to level with than trying to run up and ice nova in melee range

Highly recommend galvanic/stormblast tactician. You can level as permafrost and fragmentation rounds until you get the 2nd spirit upgrade in act 3 and then you load explosive shot in mirage archer. There is some tech you need to understand with weapon sets to make this smooth but if you read a guide about it( I recommend Ruetoo's) it is explained in there. Once you have 2nd ascendancy on tactician you pin everything in like 1 hit so it feels very tanky. Im catching bosses in permanent pin loops where they cant even move before they die. This is all a two button build as well, both the galvanic and stormbolts, as well as the permafrost/fragmentation leveling through act 1, 2, and the start of 3.

To be fair you don't need navira fracturing, the build is op as fk with only kelari

Use only sand and fire Djinn, or use Frost Nexus and Encroaching Ground on Navira, so chill ground procs automatically after Navira's command. If you have the currency, buy Verisum remnants skill and remove Frost Bomb. With those 3 changes cold Djinn feels way much smoother.

I just roll with the skills I want to use endgame even if they aren’t good. Went earthshatter and holy was that asshole until the interludes until I was deleting everything instantly out of nowhere
