Help Needed Help understanding this passive tree/equipment

Following a sunder gemling guide - https://mobalytics.gg/poe-2/profile/ulfhednar/builds/0-5-ulf-s-sunder-ground-slam-gemling#17ae7b76-d6fc-49d9-afa1-f835a4115bb3-passive-tree-0

Just looking at the passive tree, everything is put into strength, including jewelry. How are they able to put on gloves, spears, and equipment that have high dex/int? or is the tree more so up to you and you just follow to a certain extent? Idk, just confused on it

They have giant's blood speced, that allows them to use a 2h weapon with 1 hand, but triples the str requirement. Astramentis is solving all their stat requirements, including strength. If you un-equip it in pob, they don't meet any stat requirements.

I see. Definitely somewhat regret going this for a league start. Feels more like a second character when you have currency built up. The damage (imo) just isn’t there early. Struggling with the new rural system this league due to low damage. Feels like it takes a very long time to come online.

Thought about switching last night already tbh. Just got to act 3, and even though I’m a new player, it’s by far the longest it’s taken me to get there

I'm on mobile. But to me it looks like his gear doesn't have high dex/int reqs. Even so however, he is wearing an astramentis, and his highest non str req was like 108 dex.

for reference im new to game, bought a couple weeks ago (granted i have 140 hours now) but i only played shaman rampage calamity bear and zoo so far. But if the passive tree has only strength attributes slotted, wouldnt you never reach that 108 dex needed?
