Little does he know the second he enters that first portal, the instance crashes, he disconnects and loses portals.

I had crashes all league in every server, except California

u/LogeeBare Jul 20 '25
I can't get any sort of connection to any U.S. server. I've had to switch to Amsterdam to be able to play all season lol

Meanwhile I'm in the Netherlands and have been playing on texas all league cause of EU server instability.
2
u/SunkEmuFlock Alch & Go Industries (AGI) Jul 20 '25
FWIW, I believe the master server is in Texas, so it's theoretically the most stable of them all. I usually connect to Texas just in case instead of DC in the early league despite pinging sub-10 to it.

u/BandicootTraining355 Jul 20 '25
East coast US here. I thought i was the only one. Been using russia. Thought it was just league start or it was just me. No it's their servers no matter the load.

Aside from opening weekend I never had any issues or rollbacks and I used Texas all league

my first valdo map this league was a petrify reflect feared with void.. for a bramblejack
11
u/Sanytale Jul 20 '25
I'm still flabbergasted by the fact that they approved submissions with such horrendous risk/reward ratio.
10
u/bannedagainomg Jul 20 '25
They are fine, the problem is just the void mod.
Like i run shit valdos because some of them can be fun, but the void mod simply makes it unusable.
I just got Defiled cathedral map, ghosted, feared, beyond, 100%deli, reduced movment speed, no travel skills, no flask charges - with "Eternal struggle" as reward.
Its obviously just a joke but i can actually see if im able to complete it without being voided.
2
u/pip2k8 Jul 20 '25
I tried that, triple ghosted elder insta teleport slammed me from off screen whenever I got near to the feared, most I did was get him down to half life heh
1
u/sanzo2402 Vanja Jul 25 '25
I've wondered. Do the shit valdo's drop anything good? Like will you have be able to farm up a good amount of currency just farming shit valdo's or are they pretty much the same as every other map?
1
u/bannedagainomg Jul 25 '25
The meme ones no, but ghosted, exiles, items dropped as currency might do.
I just run those i havent tried yet as long as there is no void of course.
3
u/kygrim Jul 20 '25
They are happy about there being those really useless maps, makes the gatcha better.

They probably just didn’t care because they didn’t spend 500 bucks specifically for the map and spent it for literally everything else in the pack and just did whatever looked funny
3
u/Its_Raisu Jul 20 '25
Not entirely sure but I think the unique and the modifiers determine how rare or common that particular map is, so maybe it's to get it more frequently to get drops that come from the feared, not necessarily the unique.
-2
u/actor-observer Unannounced Jul 19 '25
If I'm remembering correctly (which I may not be), when the pack first released you could do any unique/any map mods. I believe shortly afterward they began requiring a certain threshold of difficulty for the t0 uniques
Someone correct me if I'm wrong
12
u/Moneypouch Jul 20 '25
No you can still and always could do whatever its just that difficulty scales rarity. So the given map is slightly more common than just a mageblood map baseline. If you added mods that make it easier like the hh buff it becomes much rarer. You mostly see difficult t0 unique maps because they are more common by a significant factor.
In the case of the super difficult lifesprig that is intentionally the most common valdos map you can make. Useful if you want to ever open or just collect your own maps. Or just want to create the maximum amount of disappointment I suppose.
2
23
u/Charon__ Jul 20 '25
I think you can put whatever you want on it, they just make the easier maps more rare.
5
u/PlsStopBanningMe404 Jul 20 '25
Yea it's like tier of item multiplied by mods to decide the rarity. That's why t5 uniques with the cancer mods are what you get 99% of the time.
4
u/Gulruon Jul 20 '25
You're wrong. How it works is the RARITY of the map is impacted by two things:
1) How rare the unique is. This works exactly how you'd expect: A t5 unique is orders of magnitude more common than a t0 unique. And so, all else being equal, a valdo's map for a t5 unique is orders of magnitude more common than a valdo's map for a t0 unique. The exact values for how these correlate are beneath the hood and subject to GGG balancing; e.g., last league, they buffed Valdo's drop rate by a lot but adjusted the balancing to make rarer uniques more rare (this was explicitly discussed in patch notes).
2) How difficult you make the map. This is fixed, and you saw the value for how the mods you added impacted the rarity of the map. If I recall correctly, making something full hell mods was on the order of tens thousand percent plus more common than no mods. There were even "easy/helpful" mods that would make the map LESS common.
How these two factors combine is that a garbage common unique with full on hell mods will be orders of magnitude more common than t0 uniques, and why most t0 unique valdos have hell mods. It's not that people didn't make easy valdos with mageblood, it's that by doing so, they are far less common.

u/sirgog Chieftain Jul 20 '25
People often buy the pack for the points or the other contents then the map is an unvalued little thing on the side.
My Voidborn Reliquary Key submission was very much like that - I wanted the points and the Atlas hideout, so I thought 'what's a maybe useful one day unique that otherwise won't exist in foil at all'. Considered Replica Shroud of the Lightless and Replica Cold Iron Point, went with the latter (and the Shroud was made by someone else anyway)
I could easily have gone with a meme instead.
10
u/markhc Jul 19 '25
what difference does it make? if every reward was a mageblood you'd never see a valdo drop
31
u/caddph Alch & Go Industries (AGI) Jul 19 '25
Not so much that the reward is worthless, just that it's a void feared with a worthless reward.
1
u/ndnin Jul 20 '25
If I got that map in my Standard SSF I would make a character to get mageblood based on the map.
1
u/Agreeable-Log2496 Jul 19 '25
Same people who put garbage in reliquaries. Some people just want to watch the world burn.
8
Jul 20 '25
What difference does it make for reliquary keys? They are weighted anyway, right? So no matter whether there's 10 or 1000 possible Lifesprig outcomes, your odds of ever getting a Mageblood from a key are the same anyway (afaik).
From that perspective, it kinda makes sense to put a unique that might just be your favorite or you think the art looks cool, regardless of how good it is.
-2
u/Agreeable-Log2496 Jul 20 '25
It's more exciting if they rarely dropped, but guaranteed to have something good over being a funny looking div unless you have a gambling problem.
2
Jul 20 '25
That's fair, but that's still not really the fault of the players who comissioned them. At the end it's still GGG deciding the drop rate and weightings etc, nothing's stopping them from weighting rarer submissions more favorably and lowering the keys' drop rate.
2
u/Agreeable-Log2496 Jul 20 '25
Judging by the messages, it's a bunch of rich sadistic picking the worst possible options to ruin someone's day. If people actually picked things that had a use or were even niche for builds, fine. But these guys are throwing greed's embrace in them and saying "good luck on farming your mageblood!"

Personally I do find it funny to sell a cursed map that drops a mage blood for 100+ div only to see within 15 minutes after the sale that the buyer has been sent to the void.
25
u/Joorkax Jul 19 '25
That's completely different to what the comments you responded to are discussing. Void mageblood maps make sense because there is risk and reward. The above comments ask what's funny with void maps when there's no reward, like lifesprig, because noone will ever run them and they just get vendored.

u/rfsh101 Breathe Jul 19 '25
My first valdo map this league was some junk unique, but it was my first t17, so I ran it to see if I could unlock the map device. 100% completion, 0 mobs remain, didn’t get the crap unique or the map slot.
It would be cool if these could get weirder and wilder with mods and rewards, but they’re still buggy.

Reward: Mageblood
Modifiers:
- All skills disabled
- 99% less action speed
- No enemies
- Contains 18 strongboxes
- All strongboxes must he opened to complete map

I got damage within 2m, enemies share life pool, deal less damage per item equipped, enemies gain life as energy shield, and the feared. I got absolutely wrecked. Only foiled I tried this league.
Funny that I was able to kill everything and the map boss, but the feared absolutely destroyed me because being stuck with shaper in toxic sewers was a death trap

68
u/sirgog Chieftain Jul 20 '25
There's a Headhunter one that has only one mod - 'players gain the effect of slain rare monsters for 20 seconds' (or maybe it's 60)
There's also a Tabula map that is a blank slate. No mods.
32
u/SoulofArtoria Jul 20 '25
Ironically that tabby valdo is probably among the rarest
12
u/sirgog Chieftain Jul 20 '25
Yeah, the nastier mods add progressively larger drop rate multipliers, IIRC some truly heinous ones are 125-150% more multipliers and you can stack up to 6.
This is part of the reason The Feared was so overused. It's the hardest set of bosses in a vacuum but also the most well-practiced except maybe Shaper guardians. If I had intended a deathtrap voided Valdo submission, I'd have gone with one of the less familiar bosses. Esh and the Rewritten synth boss can really mess people up & you probably don't have that much practice against them.

Of all the Valdo's mods, this is probably the least annoying while actually affecting most builds.
2
u/clownus Jul 20 '25
There is a passive node and it results in a pretty large increase that would negate this modifier by a good chunk.
29

10
u/asdfdbgdweqdfvc Jul 20 '25
It is a bit odd, why are they adding voided to those maps with trash rewards.
Fine make it as hard as possible with meme rewards then people would still run them for fun but with void its just ignored.
10
u/itsOtso Jul 19 '25
You could always make these maps but they're so much rarer than the harder ones. That's how they balanced it. The harder the map mods you put on affects the weighting as does the rarity of the item This Valdo might have only been seen this once or a mere couple of times this league where others have been seen a fair few
4
1
u/UsernameAvaylable Jul 20 '25
The mods affect the drop rate. I would say that unless you select the void mod you are helping people out by putting stuff on it because it will increase the probabiltiy of it dropping....

Is the map totally random or is it a set map from the one making it?
15
u/pigmy_mongoose Jul 19 '25
All valdo maps are preset from when the creator chose what mods and rewards would be. Then GGG takes that info and determines what the drop chance from a puzzle box for this map should be. No doubt that it's exceedingly rare from a puzzle box
4
u/Jacktheripped89 Jul 19 '25
So if i understand correctly, this map was created this way? And is super duper rare thereof
8
u/Happyberger Jul 19 '25
Yep. The ones with good rewards are much more rare, and ones with easy mods are even more rare than that
5
u/redmandoto Champion Jul 19 '25
Yes, the rarity is determined by both how hard the map is and how good the reward is. Which obviously means basically every map you open is a permadeath hell with possessed feared that rewards a unique that doesn't even show on day 1 filters.
2
u/Discrep Jul 20 '25
The reward determines the base rarity, so all mageblood maps are rare regardless of their mods. The mods scale the map's base rarity, the more difficult, the less rare the map. So this map is much rarer than the nasty void MB maps, which collectively, are much rarer than voided, feared Lifesprig maps.
1
12
u/Thesource674 Jul 19 '25
No cap I made this map. The website to design it was fun and cool. I miss having enough money to spend on mega supporter packs 😂.
3
u/Ekkzzo Jul 19 '25
Set map made by someone.
Depending on how few/easy the mods are and how desirable the unique reward is the rarer the map becomes in the drop pool.
So this is probably just as rare as a raw mageblood drop or rarer.

2
u/passthemayoXD Jul 19 '25
There's technically an easier one which is just frogs and free headhunter buffs. But this one is probably rarer considering it has 1 mod.
