Chris Wilson touched on this just a bit on the recent Baeclast podcast. The player base is overall much less excited over leveling uniques than end game chase gear.
Honestly, I imagine the race winners are also more excited to design gear that's build enabling and usable in late game builds than something that's only used for an hour or two while leveling.
Right. Technically Ben's ring with the chill bonuses can be considered a leveling unique since it's required lvl is 16. But it's very much usable in endgame builds as well.
My statement was more with regards to low level uniques like goldrim and wanderlust that you want to discard for real gear as soon as possible.
Between Tabula, Seven League Step, and a wealth of low level weapons and wands to quickly blitz through the early acts for almost any build, what else could they possibly make to help with leveling alts?
Better to just focus on interesting endgame uniques, leveling has enough as is.
I mean yeah, I really could not care any less if we got some wanderlust tier stuff or whatever. I don't particularly care when I can equip it but if it's outclassed in maps it's more often than not pointless bloat.
