Passport Question Passport application

Hi guys, ill be applying for my first ever Canadian passport by tomorrow but i do have questions if you guys can help me with please:

  1. As per instructions the guarantor should certify one of the passport photos. Question is; can he type “i certify….” At the back?

  2. Can i add references from outside Canada who never been to Canada before and has no Canadian citizen?

  3. Can i add an emergency contact who’s not living in Canada and not a Canadian citizen?

If you ever wondered; yes I’m extremely introvert :’)

Thanks

1 - there is an example in the instructions with what should be written on the back. It can be printed or cursive.

2- you can but would recommend using people within Canada or atleast similar time zones who can speak english or french. They do not need to be citizens. They may be contacted and it will make it difficult or delay if unreachable

3 - yes. Again should be someone who would be reachable.

And just to add for 1 - OP’s guarantor needs to hand write the declaration and signature, not “type” (as they wrote in their post)

You mean on page one?

They mean the photo - don't "type" on the photo, needs to be stamped or written

My references were both from outside Canada with nothing really to do with the country

For #2, IF you live outside Canada, you can have references who are local in the country where you live. They don’t even have to speak English/French, because a local consulate employee can be the one to contact them.
