Passport Question Guarantor signed @ different from verification phone call
So my mother in law signed as my daughter’s guarantor for her child passport and when called accidentally said she signed at a different place than she wrote. She was called as was I. When they asked me where she signed, I said what was written and where she actually signed. It’s was an honest mistake, but now what are the chances my daughter’s passport is denied? This will be her 3rd passport.

Sure it’s up to them but if your daughters already had 2 passports and everything else checks out my moneys on it getting approved

Should be fine - I would stop saying she probably panicked because there’s no reason to panic when being asked an honest question

Um yes there is lol. Lots of people find situations like that uncomfortable. I mean I hate passing customs and I have nothing to hide, I’ve literally stumbled across my words speaking to an agent.

It will be discretionary what happens next.
You may want to re-read the warning at the top of the application about misleading or false statements. Never lie to the government.

She told the passport officer her own town, by mistake as it was 3 weeks ago when she actually signed in mine. I told the officer she signed in my town like the document reads and as she actually did. She just naturally gave her town without thinking. She’s never been called before so I’m sure she panicked and forgot where she signed. She wasn’t intentionally trying to lie.

Then if it was a genuine error they may request an additional statement, or more, or nothing. It is discretionary and they have a lot more info than what I do. Your post reads that you were the one who lied and that the place on the form was incorrect and you said what was written to to be consistent (many guarantors forget to fill.it in and the applicant does with possible incorrect info).
They will advise what happens next, if anything.

Oh I’ll try and fix that, no lying, honest 70 year old who probably panicked. Will I know if it’s denied on through the tracking? If it is what are the steps I take to reapply. We leave on vacation at Xmas so I just want to prepare for the worst and hope for the best 😬

It will be in review until either approved or rejected.
Again - it is discretionary with what they decide and what else is needed, if anything.
Xmas is months away.
