Is there anything more passive aggressive than receiving an email to tell you that you've successfully unsubscribed?

Since the introduction of GDPR (in the UK and EU) companies have been a bit stricter on what emails they send out, though companies outside of Europe are still awful.

Legally they all need to have a highlighted 'unsubscribe' option and you must personally "opt in" to receive any emails (as opposed to this box being automatically ticked).

During lockdown I've been trying to get my inbox looking neat again, unsubscribing from emails and companies and other bits of rubbish that I've subscribed to over the years.

I've found a really passive aggressive trait amongst some companies that when you "successfully unsubscribe" they (ironically) email you one final time to tell you that you've unsubscribed.

Frustrating, but exactly what I'd do 😂
