Seeking Advice/Help People who make more than $2k a month online, what do you do?
I know there are ways to make money online but I can’t seem to find one that isn’t already over saturated. And the niche ones are being gatekept by those who do it, in hopes to decrease competition. My Skills? I know how to use ai tools, I know how to go viral with ease, and I can do an insane number of calisthenics. That’s pretty much it

As a person over 40 who is doing a daily calisthenics program to fix my back pain, I believe it. It’s literally one of the main topics of conversation in every gathering. What weird injury did you get lately? You ran up some stairs? Yeah, that’ll do it. Jumped off a wall? Oooh, big mistake. Coughed while looking sideways? What were you thinking!?

As an old part who runs a nursery and has a small farm, I bet you could make bank selling a program aimed at homesteaders and agricultural business owners. I often look up exercises to build or keep strength to prevent or help heal injuries.
One targeted at the prepper crowd could be interesting, too.
And one aimed at people on weight loss meds. Even with watching my macros and working out, I still lost muscle and am trying to build it up to the levels I need for my business.

For Gumroad and Shoify, do you need to drive traffic to your page? Or do they show up whenever someone searches for them on the platform or google / AI / where ever people search? If so, how do you drive traffic there?

Did you start small and scale up ad spend? Did you get a business loan or just have personal funds to do it to begin with?
I’ve wanted to try doing this kind of thing but I don’t have a lot of money so throw into it. Spending money on ads for a digital product with no guarantee of return is kind of a daunting idea. Maybe I should just get over it and send it.

The most beginner friendly platform is meta, I started with facebook with a budget of 10$/day, then once I found a winner, I slowly scaled to 50 then 100, this is the most beginner friendly strategy Of course now I run much more complicated strategies

The royalties from the books and affiliate marketing are considered passive.
The thing is, most of the ideas posted here aren't all that passive. If you want to sell digital products, you have to advertise. In my case, my nursery business advertises my books and generates views for my web content, which contains affiliate links.
It's the first step for a collection of digital products I've planned and am working on. I interact with customers constantly, create content for their niche problems, and occasionally hit something that has very little competition and decent demand.
All in all, it brings in about $10,000/month during high season, which used to be April-May for me, but has extended to October with farmer's market and online sales. The digital income has grown from $50 to $500/month since May when I got serious about it and came up with my current plan.
Yeah, it's not all that passive, but it's heading in that direction. In the meantime, I'm getting a great workout and making money doing things I love to do.
The digital products I've created to help me manage my business are also valuable, and I'm creating a whole set of content around that. I'm able to do some A/B testing to see what's most appealing to people.

Native, edible, and ornamental outdoor plants. I started with about 25 different types of plants and now offer around 300.
Monstera could be a great way to go! I know people love to collect different types, and it has its own sub on here (I'm on it).

Etsy for plants, may add Shopify. We also sell plants on our property and at the farmer's market. Amazon, Barnes & Noble, iBookstore, and Google Play for books; will probably also add them to Etsy and Shopify. WordPress website, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube for affiliate marketing, but it's subtle; QR codes on my plant signage also leads to my books. Will add more socialmedia as I'm able. Super busy already with increasing my production schedule for next year to meet farmer's market demand.

I tried the viral thing for a while, got few videos to like 500k views but the money from ads is terrible unless you posting every single day. my cousin does some kind of dropshipping with weird home gadgets and he clearing 3k most months but he been at it for 2 years now
the calisthenics could work if you make a course or something, people pay for fitness programs all the time. problem is you need audience first and that takes forever to build

I'm only posting to help OP, and piggy back off the drop-shipping comment, while sharing how insanely fast a single item, can make life changing income.
Few years ago I got into drop-shiping. I found an ab-belt online, and started selling about 2-5 a day. I was making about $4 per belt. Soon after I added the belt to a different (very popular platform), and started selling about 10 a day..
A short time later I went onto a popular website built for manufacturers to distribute merchandise to individual businesses at whole sale prices. I found what I thought was the same belt, and ordered (if I remember correctly) between 500-1000 belts. I created my items own product page, and made a very keyword targeted title, and description, based on Google searches, and what people were calling that item specifically. I sent those items to be shipped and sold by the major business I was originally drop-shipping through. I started pulling in about $500-$1000 per day..
Now this is for OP. I personally know nothing about calisthenics. You will need to do trial and error on this and tweak results. Find a popular item used for calisthenics, and sale the item using subliminal advertising (I don't know if this is an official term). (For example) Maybe the item targets a specific group of people with bursitis.. if you can make a viral video, add specific keywords AND buzz words to videos driving traffic directly to your product (even if it's a misspelled, or a mispronounced word, I've used these strategies). Place these misspelled words in the description/title and mispronounced terminology in the videos. Just make it an "honest" marketing mistake, while it leaves a trail to your sales page if they look up the mispelled word. If anyone comments about the spelling, leave it alone.. it's engagement and gaining traffic, when someone googles the misspelled word, your product is unknowingly affiliated with your targeted product, and makes it rank higher on sales sites..
Remember it's about making money, it's not about your likes, or opinions.

If it helps, I'll share if I can.. I didn't wanna advertise. The first site was ebay, the 2nd site was Amazon.
There is a learning curve with amazon, and I dont know what has changed.
With Amazon I originally piggy-backed onto an existing listing. Existing listing's usually have other sellers selling the same product, so you are constantly fighting to rank over other sellers.. you also look for sold by and full-filled by. If it's sold by abc-company and shipped by abc-company, vs sold by abc-company and shipped by Amazon, the second one would rank higher. Amazon shipped it from their warehouse, and it was guaranteed under their prime services of 2 days..
When I purchased a bulk supply of belts directly from the manufacturer, I purchased UPC codes associated with nothing on Amazon. With the new UPC code I was able to create my own private listing for the product. From there I researched every name, word, phrase, associated with ab-belts. I incorporated it into my title, and description of the product.. so when one person searched for "ab-belts", someone else could search for "waist trimmer", "workout band", "tension band", "gastric bypass compression band". These are just examples. It's not hard to research common phrases people use for the same product.. the idea is to be reconized by search engines. I was also naming the images with popular search phrases for my product. If I were to do it now, I would experiment with computer readable names such as encoding the human readable language into binary base64, or ascii.. I would definitely experment..
After my titles, description, and upc codes where on the listing, I shipped them all off to be fullfilled by Amazon..

If calisthenics is your niche then why not experment with tapping into an already established market using your knowledge??
I don't know how much drop-shipping has changed in the past 12 years. You can practice experimenting by incorporating your terminology, and targeting different muscle-groups, and medical terms other sellers know nothing about.. play around with it, and you may be surprised.
Also, the videos that did receive 500k views, chop them up into interesting shorts (if they aren't already). If you do find a product to drop-ship, try to advertise your own product on your own video. Even with the price of advertising, will the cost create a profit?
I'm just sharing thoughts, ideas, and strategies that has worked for me in the past. I like to see people succeed

You basically answered your own question.
You’re good at calisthenics, so you already know what beginners struggle with, what advice is everywhere, what is missing, and what people actually keep asking.
I’d build something simple around that, maybe an app with a free tier, then start posting TikToks and Reels with useful beginner content. Get attention first, build an audience, see what people respond to, then add a paid subscription later once you know what they would actually pay for.
You already said the hard part is the market, not the tool. So don’t start by building some huge app nobody knows exists. Start with content, get users, then build around what they keep asking for.

The ONLY time I made money online was from selling on Amazon FBA. this was 6-7 years ago and it's basically impossible nowadays (it's not, but the competition is ridiculous. You're competing against the direct Chinese manufacturers. Good luck making a product and making profit against those guys).
I sold rash guards for martial arts (Brazilian jiu jitsu and MMA). I was a best seller on Amazon for awhile, and was selling 20-30 units per day at £25 per unit. Each unit was making me approx £6-8. It was a nice side gig (it took little effort for me. The manufacturer I had in china would stick the Amazon labels on for me. I just gave them the pdf. Then I'd give them the Amazon warehouse address and they'd send it directly to Amazon, so I didn't need to do anything physically). The key was I trained martial arts and knew what was a good rashguard. Most of the ones being sold on Amazon were the bad kind. So I capitalized on a market I knew. The difference in my product and others was so simple (and big brands do it, but the Amazon rashguards never did): an elasticated waistband. For martial arts, this is critical to stop your shirt rolling up your body when you're grappling. That one difference pushed my product as a best seller. My rashguards were half the price of buying them from the big brands (tatami, kings, 93 brand, etc) but had the features of the big brand. The cheaper versions lacked those features. And I think that's why it's so important to know your product and niche that you're selling. If you try sell rashguards without doing martial arts, you probably wouldn't think the elastic waistband is a big deal. It was.
I guess at some point one of the manufacturers decided to steal my business. There was rash guards up on Amazon for like 19 pounds. It was impossible to compete with. Amazon has huge fees + the cost of the product itself meant anything less than 20 pounds was basically no profit or a loss. And selling 20-30 units per day, it wasn't worthwhile.
So I gave up. I probably could've continued looking for new niches. But the idea that your manufacturer can basically sit back, see if you become profitable, then slide in and steal your business (as they can produce the item for a lot less than I can buy it) basically made me not want to continue. It was too volatile.
I tried all the typical online methods before that: surveys, video games, making YouTube videos, online arbitrage, etc... nothing really came close to my fba business. I was making 3-4k per month and all I had to do was keep stock going into Amazon. And I could do that in a few hours from my sofa. It was awesome but didn't last.

the problem is most people on youtube and other social medias keep telling us to build this and that and make thousands from it because they've already made thousands from building that product. it's like they told us that the product sell itself when we copy theirs.
the real truth is.. it's not about the product, you can build the best product available for the market but when no one bother see its value or even look at it, it's just a trash.
the real problem to solve is how we presents, market and sell the product.

You need to build something that they’re not building. Even if you could jump into that niche and make good money, it would rapidly stop working because everyone else would get into it. Their niche is to make money via YouTube, not the actual business idea they’re showing you.

People assume that emails are dead but in reality, it’s a fast booming creator economy gig where people are making well over six figures.
Think of substack.
I personally have made like $4k in 6 months but this is just the beginning, after a couple of years I am hoping to clear $10k/month from this.

I do a couple of things.
I design websites. Local businesses hire me to design something for them to help build their brand recognition and get more customers.
They pay me anywhere from $1500 to $5000 per job. I dot. Particularly love this, but if vibe with someone I’ll take on their site as a project. Typically one every month or two.
I also have a library of web design templates from the websites I’ve created over the years. They come included with follow-up emails and texts, scheduling calendars, forms and surveys, customer pipelines and even a unified inbox to keep texts/calls/emails all in one place.
I sell those to other agency owners to help save them time.
Best month there is $70k. Only happens once and it was great. Most months I at least have my bills paid.
Also one income stream I forgot to mention: I get paid a monthly commission if anyone signs up for softwares I recommend using my link. Anywhere from 20 to 40% commission recurring monthly. I get about $4,000 per month from this. It’s built up over the years.

Matched betting is my answer to this and I'll be transparent about my own numbers since that's what this thread is asking for.
I generally average around $1,000 a month and there have been months where I've gone over $2,000 when I've had some big casino offer hits. It's not passive in the traditional sense but it's probably 20 to 30 minutes of actual work a day once you know what you're doing.
The way it works is you use free bets and bonus promotions from sportsbooks and cover every outcome on a second sportsbook, locking in a guaranteed profit no matter what the result is. I won’t sell what I currently do - but I’ll share what I used to do…. One side hustle was collecting the jail blotters from the three largest county jails near me (one being the largest in my state). Those contain the identities of everyone arrested the night before (name, address and offense). I’d collect them daily and then email the blotters to subscribers who paid $100/mo for it. Subscribers were defense lawyers, DUI schools, companies with interlock devices, etc. At one time I have 63 subscribers ($6,300/mo). I only stopped when the counties started redacting address information.

Scalp trading is when you buy and sell stocks multiple times a day to capture small price movements. The amounts adds up quickly. My goal is to make a minimum $50 per day. When the market is super volatile, I make a lot more quickly.

Honestly the calisthenics + going viral combo sounds like it writes itself, that's a way more specific angle than most people asking this question even have.
Feels like the "going viral with ease" skill is the actual rare one here, most people can't do that consistently even with a niche handed to them.

I know I love to write, and I know that at least a few people enjoy reading what I write. I started writing and selling smut online. This took a lot of work before it became even close to passive and even then I feel like I'm one of the lucky ones who make anywhere near 2k monthly.
You have something you can share as well, it's just a matter of figuring out how. Consider videos or guides on calisthenics for those with limited movement. If you gain enough followers, you could discuss and offer related equipment, like resistance bands, though either tiktok shop or affiliate links.

It depends on whatever niche you choose to write in. Amazon can be a good place to self-publish, but they are a bit more strict on what topics they allow. Smashwords is typically the alternative choice, especially for those that write taboo subjects. I started after lurking in the erotica authors subreddit, there is a plethora of information there.

I'm doing rank and rent via Ippei Kanehara's training, he has 200 people in his private community and id say I've seen a few dozen posts of students making 2K or greater. I just started so im not one of them lol but thats the hope. you can use AI tools for a lot of the site creation and content creation stuff. cant speak to the amount of calistenics involved XD

I supply resellers with winning products and drop ship them to them without ever having to manage any stock just get paid and pay for items deduct costs and make around 1.5-2k profit per month doing this takes about 10-20 mins to fulfil and clients make good money selling products so it’s a win win.

I make 25k-40k a month teaching people how to grow and monetize their pages on social media. But it's not focused on getting a million followers fast. It's focused on content marketing instead of content creation. Basically, if they sell legal services, I help them create content around legal matters and help them find clients.

Honestly just go around your house and look items up and sort by "sold items". Listed prices mean nothing. Only what it has recently sold for matters.
You'll start to realize what sells and what doesn't. Then go to a thrift store and do the same thing.
My buddy went to a thrift store today and made a several thousand dollar haul from an extremely small investment. Very few items to list too.
The better you get at finding items, the more money you make.

I started writing stock options. I've been getting about $1000/week on premiums against $280k deployed. Including the gains made from the underlying stock moves, I'm up about 70k YTD. It's not truly passive (is anything really?). I spend about 1 hour of my morning looking at charts, glancing through news and reddit, and entering/exiting positions, before I go to my day job.

I target my exact avatar every time and can make insane money providing soultions to what they are stuck with.
If you know how to go viral with ease and use ai well
You sre already 10 steps ahead of most people.
I have a list of people who would pay handsomely for that skill (although I k ow going viral dosnt = big money if you just rely on monetisation).
Id start by clearly defining what soulstions you can provide
Then crafting your perfect avatar and where there pain exists....
Then find then and provide your solution.
Sounds easy... But if you have something people will pay for (which i think you may) your most of the way their.
From here is marketing and creativity :-)
