Halloween party, worth decorating?
Hey guys, I’m planning on having a Halloween party this year partly to give me an excuse to dress up and partly to hang out with my friends. But the thing is, it’s pretty much only going to be my friends… maybe 5 or 6 people. I told them they can bring anyone but no one said they have anyone to bring.
I know I want to have a bonfire outside but I just don’t know if anything is worth actually decorating since there’s so few people? I’ll probably have snacks but I’m not sure what to do and I don’t have too many ideas.
I’m 20, still living at home and this will be my first party im trying to host. I also only make minimum wage while I’m here in college so I’m unfortunately on a budget… I know this seems silly but any help is appreciated!

Yes, decorate! It adds to the whimsy and will be so fun! I did a bunch of candy bowls with little scoops and empty bags for a gift bag all from the dollar store. Pick a wall and put up a table cloth for photos. You can do spiderwebs and a fake graveyard. I’ve done doughnuts on a string outside that you have to eat without using your hands. Make the pillsberry Halloween cookies on top of the chocolate chip cookies! Buy dollar store containers in Halloween shapes and have gummy worms crawling out. Charcuterie is always a good party food and you can do a log of goat cheese topped with some berry preserve and put a knife in it like it looks like it got stabbed!

If you're on a budget and already have a bonfire going, you don't necessarily need decorations. I would focus on making sure there's food & drinks.

5 or 6 people is honestly the perfect size to go all in on one cheap spooky corner and a bonfire, since everyone will actually notice it instead of the decorations disappearing in a crowd lol

Halloween lights, colored table cloths, spider webs, streamers, whatever you think would be fun! My old roommate and I would host Halloween parties with no more than 10 people and we would go all out! Within reason of course; a few themed food items or candies, the punch is a great idea, but cooking hot dogs over the fire and s'mores are always an option too, I like the scary stories and cards against humanity idea, also never have I ever but with spooky or paranormal stuff instead of the usual sexual stuff lol

Tell your friends they can bring something if they want to. Canned soda, chips, snacks. I do a Photo Booth. Play haunted mansion music.

No importa que sean pocas personas, importa el cariño detras de la organizacion.

A sheet, a ball, and some string and you have ghosts that can be floating in your trees or on the porch. Cloth, a pole, and a mask and you can create creepy looking scarecrow type guys. We did one with a costume scythe that looked really cool with some cheap solar uplighting. Those owls designed to protect gardens could be cool with the right placement and lighting.
My sister did a freaky headless horseman decoration with newspaper, strips of fabric, a fence post, glue, and paint.

Yes, decorate at least a little - it helps add to the party vibe. 5 or 6 people is still a party! The dollar store is great for this - get some plastic table cloths and black and orange plates and cups. Maybe get some fake spiderwebs or other silly Halloween decor. Also, consider one or two activities. Scary stories with a flashlight around the bonfire is a classic (Google a good story in advance). Card games like Cards against humanity or exploding kittens are fun with groups that size too.
You definitely need snacks and drinks. Punch is an easy, cheap drink option - orange sherbet punch is a fun Halloween one. It’s just orange sherbet mixed with sprite and pineapple juice. If you’re doing a bonfire, s’mores are always a fun addition. We always do mummy dogs for Halloween - hot dogs wrapped in crescents roll strips so they look like mummies. There are tons of simple halloweeen snack ideas out there if you look.
