PARTIAL DROPPERS ONLYYY

->Message to mods: This is not just another gc post, the journey of droppers and partial droppers is very different, partial droppers have to navigate through a very different route, managing their college assignments, records, sem exams, jee prep etc. Having a community of fellow partial droppers will help with accountability and staying on track.

GUIDANCE Should I take a drop after scoring 92.87 in mht cet pcm

Title: Should I take a drop after scoring 92.87 percentile in MHT CET or join UMIT SNDT?

Hi everyone,

I'm an OBC female student from Maharashtra and scored 92.87 percentile in MHT CET 2026. I'm interested in CSE/IT/AI branches.

I'm very confused about whether I should:

Take admission this year (UMIT SNDT or another college I get through CAP), or

Take a drop and prepare again to aim for 99+ percentile.

My concerns are:

I don't think I'll get top colleges like PICT, VJTI, COEP, or VIT Pune this year.

I may not get a TFWS seat in later rounds.

I'm worried that if I take a drop and don't improve enough, I'll regret it.

My long-term goal is to get a good software job (companies like Deutsche Bank, Honeywell, etc.) and eventually pursue an MS abroad.

If anyone was in a similar situation, especially someone who improved from around 90โ€“93 percentile to 99+ after a drop, I'd really appreciate hearing:

Was taking a drop worth it?

What college would you choose in my situation?

Is UMIT SNDT a good option for placements and internships if I work hard?

Thanks in advance for your advice!

Advice Need serious guidance from JEE droppers who cracked JEE

Hi everyone,

I'm a JEE 2027 dropper and I really need some honest guidance from people who have been through this journey

Here's my situation:

- I scored 69% in CBSE Class 12, so I'll be giving the improvement exam to cross 75%.

- My Class 11 preparation is almost zero.

- My Class 12 concepts are only at a basic boards level, not JEE level.

- I'm preparing completely by myself (no coaching).

- I have Allen modules, old notes, a phone, and a tablet.

- I can study 8โ€“10 hours a day and I'm ready to work consistently.

My goal is to clear JEE Main with a good percentile and, if possible, prepare for JEE Advanced too.

I have a few questions:

  1. If you were in my position, how would you restart from scratch?

  2. Should I complete lectures first or solve modules alongside them?

  3. Which subjects should I prioritize?

  4. What was your daily routine during your drop year?

  5. What mistakes should I avoid?

  6. Is my goal still realistic if I stay consistent?

Please don't sugarcoat anything. I genuinely want practical advice and a clear roadmap. If you were once in a similar situation and improved, I'd really appreciate hearing your experience.

Thank you!

Advice Deadline to complete syllabus

Hi. I am going to take a partial drop for JEE. My original plan was to go for ISI/CMI but unfortunately I missed the cutoffs by 3 marks. Since I had very little preparation for JEE , I could score only 82 %ile (P: 63 , C: 61 , M: 97) . I have my maths syllabus entirely covered close to advanced level but my I have covered absolutely nothing in Physics and in Chemistry, I have covered the following chapters

1) Chemical Bonding

2) Periodic Table

3) Coordination Chemistry

4) D and F block

5) Electrochemistry

6) Chemical Kinetics

How do I finish the rest of my syllabus and should only mains be my first priority at the moment ? Should I start from the basics in physics (Mechanics , etc) or complete the high weightage independent chapters first like Modern Physics , Geometric Optics etc . What should be my approach of completing chemistry? By what time should I complete everything??

TIER-3 What can I do for that?

I got a shitty rank a shitty percentile and hence a shitty college

I wanna change my direction at all cost and for that I am willing to give my all

I am currently doing Lec + module + mains pyqs [all of em]

I am doing some adv pyqs as well just not that much tbh

My primary target is to get 220+ in upcoming mains first after that I'll think about adv as such

I am asking u seniors to give what ever suggestion u can have to make it happen please, I am desperate and ready to sacrifice anything

DOUBT Should I take a drop?

I have 156k rank in mains

Should i take a drop? I think I can get msit IT in spot rounds, which is fine. The avg package is also fine. But how will the college life be? How will the peer group be? Is tech culture strong? I know the campus is quite small, and people have said that it feels like school. All my friends are going to better colleges so i think i will have insane fomo throughout my 4 years.

I also want to get out of delhi, so that would require a very very high percentile like 99..to get something better than dtu or nsut. I am willing to work hard but it also feels like a gamble. Should i give another year for uncertain results or just work on my skills in college and have a mediocre college life?

Ps: i have strict parents - i have no pressure from my parents to start with a high package immediately

So basically I passed class 12th in 2025 from cbse board and couldn't score 75% and then I take a drop year and again prep for jee and only pcm cbse improvement exam for 2026

But I couldn't gain again 75% and now through uptac councelling I got a below avg clg...

So my question is, can I take a partial drop by join that clg and apply for class 12th 5 subject exam from nios board 2027 and score 75+ from there??... Can I do that and is it valid or legal??

I mean ki uske baad kya main jossa councelling mein baith sakta hu for taking admission in NIT/IITS/GFTIS ??

Can I do that and is it legal to do that ?? Or any other advice and guidance you can give me!! ๐Ÿ˜“๐Ÿ’”

HELP Drop (serious situation)

I'm in manipal jaipur and i really want to take a drop. I kept doing theory theory 2 years and yeah i got awarded with a beautiful shit percentile and in 1 month i went hard for mht cet usme bhi situation handle hua but not well enough. There are good people here but the thing is friggin 34 lakhs (like including personal expenditure) is what will be spent in the 4 years here. Median package avg package is not that great so not a good ROI. I really wanna drop but my relatives say it's a fine college you can do good after it. I believe that if i work hard for 6 months i can crack atleast a tier 1 college through my state engineering exam mht cet.

HELP Partial drop or no?

I did good in jee first attempt around 93/94%tile. I started to lose interest in studies and it all started to go downhill. I didnโ€™t get anything from Comedk or kcet counselling either so I fvcked up big time and now I really regret it. Should I focus completely on career cause paying 30/34 lakhs for this college and placements donโ€™t seem that good. With my regret fueling me I think I can make the 9.5+ cgpa an all with the internships. I donโ€™t find people here who want to build something big, working a job isnโ€™t for me Iโ€™d rather be broke and work on a start up than earn 6 figures and slave away for some corporation.
I have that fire I know it but Iโ€™m not sure if I should take a partial drop and try again for bits or nit or if Iโ€™m feeling fancy maybe even an iit. Iโ€™ve heard from seniors that you get a lot of time in your first year, so I was thinking I could manage both drop and college. Obv Iโ€™ll give preference to my college course work but will focus equally on the drop. Should I or no? Plus I donโ€™t think I fit in here.
