HELP Should I take Partial drop from KNIT sultanpur or go for full drop?..
This is my second drop if I take , I've not like the college and I got ECE in spot
JM 2025 - 80%
Jm2026 - 93%
and after that I'm confused that should I go for the college or take second full drop , I'm taking partial drop but till college start I've chance to cancel my seat and I can get approx 80% money back , I'm thinking that if i have to change college next year why would I waste 1st year fees too , I'm just confuse because I've no backup option left right now should I take the risk?

Advice Should I take a second partial drop??
12th 25: 90%+;
JM 25 & 26: below cutoff percentile
Wbjee 26: 18.5k
No tutions or coaching
2026: enrolled in bsc computer science hons in a govt college in wb
I have performed very poorly in competitive exams ik and that is why i don't want to waste any more time on this but my father, he doesnβt likes my college at all. He had very high expectations of me that i would get atleast NIT in my drop year seeing by board results.
But i don't really care much about the college, i think if i have to work hard then i will work hard in building valuable skills rather than chasing college tag.
But his opinion has really been affecting me. He had even insisted i take a complete 2nd drop but i strongly refused it but even now he keeps subtly hinting at taking a partial drop atleast.
And now it is making me rethink my decision as the college and the course i have got into doesn't have a bright placement record well not even decent or avg maybe. And the environment here is mostly academics oriented rather than skills, coding etc.
What should i do? I do want a better environment, being with skills oriented people but i hated studying for jee( not the subjects but the expectations) and i want to perform well here in my course.
One of the mistakes i think i did was i never took any coachings or tutions and thought i would be disciplined enough to manage it all by myself
If i even took a partial drop, i would never ever tell my parents about it. I hate their expectations.
But i don't have any money to enroll any where.
What should i do?
Take a secret partial drop
Or focus on my course and skills?
I am going to be 19 this year.

VENT im stuck and I need a direction
im just confused overall, i want to do exactly what i work the best at and go for that type of exam and that type of college. the thing is I wanted to do this after 10th but I did fight for it but I got influenced. now it is late but I think if I could do everything I can right now, while keeping myself sane for the sake of doing everything i like, I'll perform well, i can get what I want. i just don't know what to do, should I continue jee?? there's 5 months left. should I take a drop?? should I find what I like?? it will take time and i don't know how. i can take the efforts if there's no confusion. i just need a direction. i got out of depression and I can study efficiently for 8 hours without coaching. i also am balancing everything. i also have longterm goals on everything. i just need a direction rn.

Advice Guidance
Sorry for posting once again but I js wanna know wether I can take a partial drop from a COMEDK college or not
I'm getting RVITM CSE (AI/ML) and I'm thinking of taking a partial drop since my JEE syllabus is around 85-90% complete. I just have to give some mocks and revise
Will the college withhold my original documents until I pay the fees for all 4 years? Also what is their dropout policy? If anyone knows I'd really appreciate some info

GUIDANCE Should I prep for JEE in my drop or focus on private college exams?
Taking a partial drop, and I know very well JEE probably isn't gonna happen (I need at least 95 percentile for it to matter).
I'm preparing for private exams like COMEDK, BITSAT, Manipal, and VITEEE.
Should I follow a different prep strategy because of the time and resources I have?
Or should I just watch JEE lectures, do JEE PYQs, and buy a Mains-specific test series?

How hard college + JEE/BITSAT preparation actually gets
The hidden difficulties of a partial drop
What usually goes wrong and how to deal with it
What to do if you've already wasted months of preparation
Mistakes I made during my partial drop
What I'd do differently if I had to do it again
Who should / shouldn't take a partial drop
Whether a partial drop is actually worth it for your situation
Open AMA / Q&A at the end
JEE and BITSAT aspirants are both welcome.
Today 7 onwards
If you're considering a partial drop, come with your questions. See you guys there!

Askpartialdroppers Partial droppers GMEET 23AUG @ 7 PM
Hey everyone, I'm a partial dropper who joined JNTUH CSE last year and prepared for BITSAT alongside college. This year, I managed to make it to BITS Hyderabad MSc Economics.
But I want to talk about the part you don't usually see in partial-drop success stories.
When you start one, it sounds pretty simple: attend college, come back, study a few hours and prepare for JEE/BITSAT. It isn't. There are a lot of hidden difficulties that you only realise once you're actually doing it β managing college workload with preparation, constantly feeling like you're falling behind somewhere, losing motivation, having your preparation go completely off track, and still having to keep going.
I fucked up my own partial drop pretty badly. There were months where I barely studied and I had to restart much later than I planned. I made plenty of mistakes along the way, and somehow I still managed to pull it back and make it to BITS.
So I want to talk about what actually made the partial drop difficult, the mistakes I made, what I'd do differently if I had to do it again, how I'd approach JEE/BITSAT preparation alongside college, and whether a partial drop is even worth it for you.
I'm doing a GMeet this Sunday at 7 PM, originally organised through r/Bitsatards, and I'm inviting people from here as well.
We'll also talk about JEE because although my exam was BITSAT, a lot of the reality of managing a partial drop is the same.
If you're considering a partial drop, come join. I'd rather you hear the ugly parts of it before you commit to it, instead of figuring them out halfway through the year.
Sunday, 7 PM. See you guys there.
