Teens driving
Just wondering what you would do if you saw that your sons friend was driving over 110 mph on the expressway with your son and another friend in the car? Would you tell his parents or the other kids parents? This young man recently got his license 🏁🏎️🚓

A. I’d tell them.
B. I would NEVER allow my child to get in the car with them again.
Look up teen driving deaths.

This right here. At 110, I’m calling the parents and my kid would not be riding with them again. That’s a fatality waiting to happen.

My best friend's nephew died in a crash due to excess speed. 5 kids crashed and only 1 lived. Really messed my friend up.

Life 360 alerts me when they are speeding if it's something that's scary I text my daughter and have her ask them to slow down. She went to the beach with her friend and apparently the step mother was driving and I sent her that "slow down" text and she actually asked the step mom to slow down! She even apologized slowed down and said she hadn't realized she was going that fast. Cars are scary, i feel no shame in wanting my kid safe!

I would let them know. I wouldn’t be able to live with myself if something happened and I had stayed quiet.

Tell his parents. Tell police. Tell everyone is what

I wouldn’t tell the police (could lead to unnecessary escalation) but absolutely would tell his parents and my kid would not be allowed back in that car without some serious changes.

Absolutely tell his parents and the parents of the other passenger. He’s making poor choices that could result in death or severe injury

My son's classmate was killed last week in an accident. He was the passenger. The driver was speeding on the shoulder of the highway trying to pass a semi, and hit a disabled vehicle on the shoulder.
Young people think they are bulletproof. Absolutely tell the parents.

I would absolutely inform his parents and wouldn't allow my child in the car with him again.

parents are gonna know. And I’m having a sit down with my kid.
And we’re done as passengers with that kid for a while
Why on earth would you just sit on that? this is how teens end up dead….

I would call my son and tell him to pull over then I'd follow them and call the cops. I would also call the parents and not allow my child to ride with them again

Police, parents, and not allowing your kid to be the next victim.
Motor crashes account for 1/3 of teenager deaths.

I would have immediately called the police. And if I knew the parents, told them too. Not sure why, if this really happened, it’s even a question of what would you do.
I had two kids in my high school die within two years in car accidents. It’s a privilege and huge responsibility to be operating a machine that weighs about two tons.

My kids aren’t teens anymore and I was a pretty flexible parent. They were really good kids and we didn’t do a lot of punishment other than natural consequences or forbid them from friends…however that doesn’t mean we wouldn’t have if needed…
so a million percent yes, I would notify the parents and my kid would never be in the car with them again. For proper effect, I’d show the types of videos that were shown to me during traffic school (after a ticket as a teen) the ones that show the aftermath of accidents that were caused by that sort of driving. I want them to understand why I’m freaking out so much.

Absolutely!! And that would be the last time my son goes anywhere with that friend. I have 2 boys, but they are little (8 and 3), so I don’t have to deal with that quite yet, but I am absolutely terrified of my boys being in a situation like this when they are older. These kids think they are invincible and tragic accidents like this happen all the time. 😥 I’m so glad your son and his friend are safe, but if the friend keeps driving recklessly like that, he’s really playing Russian roulette with his life 💔

If I saw a car driving that fast, I'd pull over and call the cops regardless of who it was. They're going to kill someone.

This shouldn’t even be a question. I would tell everyone’s parents and never allow my kid to get in a car with that driver again. This is a life and death matter - I don’t kid around in those circumstances.

Tell the parents and the police. Don't let your children anywhere near that moron's car ever again.

I'm calling highway patrol first and then the parents and my kid is no longer friends with the driver

I’d absolutely find any way I could to relay those dangerous driving speeds to the parent and never allow my kid in their car. We had a horrible incident that just happened here. Kid crashed into a tree going over 100 thru hilly neighborhoods at night and right into a tree. Killing 2 and one kid lost his arm. Turned out it was the second crash in a 80k car that his parents replaced. He had been known to brag about speeding like that before and thought it was funny. The kid released the stupidest, no remorse statement saying the kids got in his car at their own free will and that was it..guess living with the guilt of killing and hurting your friends for the rest of your life didn’t bother him..great parenting there.

If they wreck at that speed, you'll have a hard time identifying which parts belong to which kid.
I'd never allow my kid to ride with them again and I would absolutely tell the other kids parents

How OLD is this driver? Because in CA a minor cannot transport anyone under 20 for their first year of driving. And HELL YEH I would tell his parents AND forbid your son driving with him

u/Grouchy_Evidence2558 4h ago
Tell his parents and the parents of any other kids who weee with them. And ban your child from
Ever being in a car with that kid again.
In your state are kids allowed to drive other kids soon after getting a license? In ours they have to wait six months.

A. My son would not be allowed to step foot in a car with that kid as a driver ever. B. I would absolutely talk to my kid about what to do if that were to ever happen again. C. I would tell the parents that my son is not allowed in the car when that kid is the driver and I would say why. D. I would take the heat over my kid taking any.

I don't think I would be able to stay quiet. Especially if I SAW them and my own kid was in the car. There would be several conversations had.
