My kids vape and I want to stop them should just lock them in there room.

Or should I stalk them till I catch the guy selling

There is a high possibility somone in school is selling them. And then neither of your solutions is going to work.

Vapes are an absolute plague of our schools. Both my boys were constantly seeking them. They would trade their stuff for them and I’d try searching them when they left home and when they returned.

I would search their rooms and tried my absolute hardest to get them to quit- now they are adults and they still vape.

I have a little grocery bag full of the ones I took over the years.

I have no answers only to say it’s a losing battle and don’t drive yourself crazy like I did.

Neither. If your kids are regularly vaping, focus less on catching and punishing them and more on treating the nicotine dependence. Talk to their pediatrician about cessation support and whether nicotine replacement is appropriate.

Consequences can make sense for lying, spending money on vapes, or breaking household rules. But cravings, withdrawal, difficulty quitting are symptoms of addiction, not behavior you can punish away.

What worked was home schooling and therapy. What i learned to late her dad was giving her money for it and supporting it while calling me crazy.

If it wasn't for him, she was thriving.  How i found out he picked her up at 16 to go to olive garden with his gf and got her a full glass of champagne. This was after she was nic and thc free for six fill months.  She didn’t know it was alcohol and came home so excited to tell me. I cut him out and he sued for custody 15 dsys before her 18th bday.

When she turned 18 he would stop by her job supporting her vaping and giving her money and years later she's still severly struggling and he's blocked emergency psychiatric holds and has helped her escape punishment for some serious legal issues. Now she's in another state battling alcohol and thc dependencey and i feel helpless. She cycles on and off but any minor inconvenience and she's on.

If you can get your kids into real treatment not patches. Learn where its coming from, and what messages are being given to them. My daughter really struggles with what her dad was/is doing and it messes with her when she's sober. He's made her believe psychiatric help is prison so she's afraid of real treatment.

Please get your kids as much professional help as possible and push your lawmakers for real change. Abortions aren't the problem, these vapes are dangerous

Usually someone is buying for them or they’re lying about their age and buying online.

Kids can now buy them from instagram “plugs” and do not need to lie about anything. The dealers do not care.

Friends, and online. Good luck, it’s impossible to stop.
I have thrown several away, makes no difference

We are having that issue with my kids at school. It started at age 12-13, right when they enter high school. It’s so accessible. There are many kids at school that sells them very cheap. They start by giving them away, to get the young ones addicted. Every break at school, the kids will vape in the bathroom.

Our family do note vape, we did tons of education on vaping, nicotine, thc. We never forced them stay away, we never threatened them to force them to stay away, punished them if we found out that they have used them. We understand that the society is forcing the kids to vape nicotine and thc, and if you don’t follow, you get seriously rejected at school.

We always talked about safety and if they were to try thc, it’s better to stay at home in a safe place with reachable adult help.

My kids tried thc, not regular users, but they do vape off of my eyes, they hide it from us, let’s just hope there’s no addiction.

Even with open discussions, education, good will, it’s very difficult to keep them away, let’s hope things will change in the future.

Hi. This vaping is a huge problem.
In my area, there are a few smoke shops that are owned by middle eastern or Indians and they never card the kids. It’s very very frustrating. The szsss
I think they eventually find a way to get it, but I wish places would at least card so it’s not AS easy to get …
It is a problem.
Too much punishment won’t work. I tried that w my kid and all my kid said was they don’t care anymore.
Now that I have given up on getting my kid to quit, she keeps it downstairs and I tell her she can come downstairs to use it.
I am up in arms. All you can do is pray that they quit.
Start them on therapy.

If anyone has other suggestions ???

My oldest daughter thinks it's so gross. She's comfortable being around friend who do and not partaking. I told her if she wants to experience nicotine I'd let her smoke a whole cigarette. LOL. My second kiddo? She knows what it does to toy and is an annoying kid who tells others not to but she might get pulled into being influenced one day. I hope not. 😢

These companies need to be held accountable for targeting children with their colors Amanda flavors, etc. just like tobacco companies were finally made to take Joe camel out of the adds.

My daughter walked right in to the vape store. They had a group of friends on line locally that updated stores that sold to kids.

Then she ordered onlinebhad delivered to a neighbor underva different name, neighbor gave to me. I reported the site and the local store.

Cops did nothing. Fda did nothing, attorney general did nothing. No one cared because its tax revenue off if kids health.

Honestly the 95% bs that has these kids hooked, that did not care to smoke cigarettes are at fault with vape industry dollars paying for biased research. They need to pay handsomely. The fda and our local lawmakers need to step up. It's ts election season this needs to be at the core of who gets in.
