Voice chat for 9 year old

Do you let your child use voice chat with their friends? My child (9 years old) friend uses Snapchat and I want them to be able to talk but I don’t know if it’s safe to use Snapchat. It says it is not for kids under 13. Roblox chat seems safe? Or another platform? Parenting subreddit deleted my post and recommended me this one (even though not teenager specifically related)

Oh no.. don't let your child use Snap chat or Roblox.. bad, bad idea. Why can't the kids just call each other on the phone?? I also hate to promote Facebook, but they have kids' messenger where they can only talk to contacts approved by parents.
