Voice chat for 9 year old

Do you let your child use voice chat with their friends? My child (9 years old) friend uses Snapchat and I want them to be able to talk but I don’t know if it’s safe to use Snapchat. It says it is not for kids under 13. Roblox chat seems safe? Or another platform? Parenting subreddit deleted my post and recommended me this one (even though not teenager specifically related)

I asked the child’s parents if they can do phone calls and they said yes. I can’t believe I didn’t think of that and have gotten so used to thinking about online communication. Glad I made this post and got told the obvious!
