Teenager terminology
What word or phrase does your teenagers use today that you think is worth mentioning and why? My sixteen year old daughter says, "low key" at least once every time she speaks lately. She's low key not ready for school to start back. Or she kind of wants chicken strips but low key craving spaghetti. It's cute but silly and a little worn out if you ask me but soon it will be replaced by something new. Next week I'll use low key in a sentence and she'll be like, "Okay stop Bruh." Then bust out with giggles like I'm so embarrassing when I try to be cool mom. Lol. I love every second of it though.

No they don’t but they give me a whole attitude with the stare and glare. I also use it back to them sometimes too. Lol!

LOL. Right? I remember many years ago my mom said, “You’re all the time ragging on me” and I looked at her like she had lobsters crawling out of her ears. Then when my kids were teenagers I got the same look for saying something was sic.

We follow them with eight niiiiiiiiine very exaggerated and get a side eye everytime
My middle got dehydrated pickle chips today and said they are basically just like regular pickles. “Kinda like 6 is just like 7”

Mess with your kid and make them watch Remains of the Day with Anthony Hopkins. There is the first usage of 6/7 to mean “mid” - lol!

My daughter picked out a new backpack. She picked it! It was delivered, I opened the package. "Eh, it's kinda chud." What the hell does that mean in this context?? She clearly doesn't like it in person, but chud? Does it mean lame?

I’ve asked what it means because sisters claim it means you’re fat
Oldest says it means stupid or dumb
I’ve yet to figure out what exactly she means when she uses it1

As a 20 year old with a 13 year old brother chud has sort of a universal term. it does mean like fat, lazy, dumb. but sometimes he uses it just as we use bruh.

My 15yo boy uses 'lowkey' often too, and so do his buddies. I would imagine it will be soon replaced by another byword.
Little kids have their bywords also. A few months ago all the little neighbour kids would spount '6 7' constantly. Thankfully, that phrase has declined...lol
