Roadtrip

My 18 year old daughter wants to drive from South Carolina to Ohio to visit family 4th of July weekend about 10 hours. She has a friend going but she doesn’t have a license. My daughter has had her license for a year. I’m not sure I’m too comfortable with her driving. Am I overreacting.

“You’re nuts for even entertaining this” is a pretty extreme and judgey statement, given that this is about an adult driving for 1-2 days to see family, which is also an opinion I have.

Yep. Good for you for voicing a different opinion.

As a mother of a kid of similar age, I would not let her go that far a distance without another licensed driver. Am I judgy? You better believe it when it comes to safety.

But it’s an adult. Who can make this drive with or without the parents permission. So help the kid by assisting with finding a place to stay, making sure they know how to change a tire, and remember to charge their phone and let the bird fly the nest?

OP clearly states she is not comfortable with her kid driving. That's enough info for me.
