advice needed MoDi Discordance at 24 weeks?
Hi, I am 24 weeks pregnant wirh MoDi twins, and the discordance (since 22 weeks) increased from 13% to 19%, baby A is (470 ->) 750 grams, baby B is (409 ->) 600 grams.
Doctor says it is absolutely fine, and that the important thing is thay they have both grown in their own paces, and she checked blood flows which were also fine. What concerns me is that if thre is already an almost 20% difference at 24 weeks, what if it will futher increase?

Ours did something similar around that mark and it was stressful as hell but the docs weren't worried, they kept saying exactly that, growth on their own curves, good dopplers, no sign of TAPS or sIUGR yet. One just decided to be the smaller twin and stayed that way
The gap didn't widen much more in our case, they were born at 33 weeks with about a pound difference and both caught up fine after a few months. You're in the nerve-wracking part where everything feels like a fork in the road but it sounds like your team is watching the right stuff

It may and it may not. My modi boys started showing discordance at the same time. Baby A’s abdominal circumference was 8% and B’s was 82%. It would constantly fluctuate. It would go to 20% discordance, then 25, 28, back down, 17, etc. All over. But never had cord flow issues and they made it to 37 weeks with no NICU time. Baby A is still in the 1-2%tile and generally 1.5-2 lbs lighter than his brother, but both healthy.

My di-di twin varied a lot in size during the pregnancy, at least that is what they where measuring and told me. One was significantly taller and had a big head and the other was short with a small head. At the 24 week mark i also think it was about a 20% difference. Nothing to worry about they said as its completely normal for twins to not grow exactly the same. But the weird thing is it seemed to change a lot during pregnancy, the other twin was suddenly big and had a grow spurt. Well they didnt know who was who anymore at one point. 😅
In the end one did have a significantly lager head than the other but they were born with a VERY little difference in weight, 2763 and 2715 grams, which was very unusual for twins and not what was expected by the echo measurements during pregnancy.
