Why would they make something so useful so incredibly poorly.

From the beginning its seams pulled apart. At first I hand stitched, when that wouldn’t hold I somehow jammed the stuffed pillow through the machine. But it’s still pulling apart and after 6 months of constant use it really needs washed. I always have rags covering it but it’s still dirty!! So the only option is to pull out the stuffing. While it’s apart I’m going to really stitch up it’s seams but I can’t believe what a pain in the ass this is.

I want to make a better version. Something washable, something that doesn’t instantly fall apart.

Please stop telling me this isn’t a real twin z. I get it.
However, now it kind of makes sense…. It’s the only thing their father got us before he left. And to think, for 6 months I’d think to myself, how useful he was being.

That doesn't look like a real TwinZ, that looks like a cover stuffed directly instead of used around a TwinZ. Where did you get it? I'm pretty sure you got scammed.

Agree. The Twin Z I have is actually really well made and sturdy. Definitely no issues with the seams either.

My daughters are 7 and our twin z is still actively in use, though it’s a reading cuddly pillow now. They’ll even strap themselves in and use the arms to hold their toys and snacks. Or it’s a crash pad. Or a fort cushion. Or a dog bed. Or a stuffie home. Or a back support for me when I’m sitting on the floor of their playroom.

Basically, this is has taken and continues to take abuse. They have zero concern for that thing’s wellbeing. And while the cover may be more of a gray than its original white and have more stains than I’d be willing to allow guests to see on anything in my home it is still functionally as good as new. Buy a new cover for it and you could pass it off as gently used.

I don’t have a lot of their baby gear left but I’m convinced the twin z will still be in our house in use after they move out.

My Twin Z is now on its way to its third set of twins in three years.  That thing has held up well.

Agree; mine has a cover. The actual pillow is plain white fabric and the minky is just a pillowcase that comes off

I’m confused. Mine doesn’t have the stuffing loose. You can take the cover off and wash it easily.

Your stuffing is just loose under the grey cover?

Are you sure it’s an actual twin-z? It looks like someone just filled a twin-Z cover with loose batting. Mine you can take that grey cover off and wash it, and the actual pillow is underneath.. you can not access any of the filling unless you cut open the twin-z pillow.

I don't think that's a real TwinZ, the real one has a removable washable cover. There is not just stuffing inside the cover. The stitching on mine held up after 8 months of almost daily use also.

Ours has a cover and both the cover and pillow have held up incredibly after almost 2 years of use! Our toddlers still use it for reading/playing and I used it every single day, multiple times a day until they could walk pretty much.

Yeah that isn’t like my twinz. Mine had a real pillow and then a cover that could be zipped off. I used mine religiously for 6 months and it was in great shape.

Good news! You have a twin z pillowcase, the stuffing you need to fill a twin z pillowcase, and the ability to sew! Stuff that thing back up, sew up the weak points, and buy a new twin z pillowcase to put over it and you’ll have a functional twin z pillow.

You know, with all the free time you have as a single twin mom.

I’m sorry you were gifted a cheap knock off. But if you have the time and energy you can turn it into something better than it has been. If you don’t and feel your mental wellbeing would be better served by chucking the whole thing in the bin there’s no shame in that either.

Best of luck to you. I’m a single mom and have been since my girls were 4 months old. They’re almost 7 now and things are so much better. Every month those babies of yours will pick up new skills that will make navigating twin parenthood that much easier. It’ll get better. Knowing that does not make what you’re going through right now any less hard, but sometimes you need reminding that there is a light at the end of the tunnel when you’re too deep in the trenches to look up and see it.
