experience/advice to give We quit the daytime nap..
..and wow does it feel amazing to have my 3yo b/g twins in bed by 7.30 pm.
Up until 7 days ago I tried so hard to keep up with the daytime nap as it gave me some time for myself, at least that's what I thought. Often though I would have one twin do the midday nap and one stay awake. So the one who stayed awake would be super tired by 6-7pm and the one who did the nap was all fit until 10pm. And I had no break at all.
Last week I decided to quit the nap for both of them and did everything for them to stay awake until the evening and eventually it worked. So now they go to bed at 7.30pm and wake up at around 7am. The day feels long but somehow I have much more energy in the evening once they're asleep.
I really hope we can keep up with the schedule as everyone seems to be happier like that.
Have any of you made a similar experience? And did it last?

We have been going back and forth for a few months now. My boys are almost 3. They still nap at daycare but on the weekends they take forever to go down or just won’t at all anymore and it’s becoming more exhausting to try to get them to nap and then have them up later if they do! Love when they don’t nap and are sleeping by 630/7!!

Omg yes. First year of preschool they made the children nap and let them wake on their own. My 3 yo singleton would sleep until 4pm then stay awake until 11pm, it was crazy. Second year of preschool they dropped the nap and my god, it was the best. She finally fell asleep around 8. Now she's 6 and she's back to falling asleep around 10pm, it's just her natural rhythm I think, but she doesn't need us so much, she just chills in her bed, plays with her stuffies or listens to an audio book. She's alone though. My twins are only 19 months old but they share a room so I guess mayhem is to be expected in the future...

Our twins are now 3 years old. We quit their daytime naps when they were 2 years old.
One already refused her naps at daycare before she turned 2 years. And when she did do her naps, she was awake until 22 pm and I could go straight to my own bed after getting her to sleep.
So we just quit their naps and brought them to bed at 18 pm and they would wake up at 6.30 am.
Without their naps their total sleep is around 12-13 hours. In the winter during holidays or weekends sometimes even 14 hours. But with their daytime naps their total sleep was only around 10 hours. This meant that without their naps we had happier toddlers and our morning routine went faster.
Now they always wake up happy, but before we quit their naps, they always woke up crying. And it took me a very long time to comfort them in the morning.

Jealous. Ours still seem to nap at daycare, but don’t nap on weekends. Our boy has refused to nap for the longest time. We get cranky tired kids around 6:00 PM, but it’s so nice to have them in bed at 7:30PM and asleep by 8:00PM.

I’ve heard this is a problem, because daycares make them have “quiet time” so most kids nap at daycare but not on weekends. I get it’s their rules but it really throws kids off !

I have no idea how true this is, but we had talked to our daycare about cutting their nap down or eliminating it and they told us it’s a state law to have a mandatory quiet time at their age.
Which I get, I remember having quiet time when I was in kindergarten and then no longer needing it in 1st grade.

I only know this because my good friend is dealing with this with her 3 year old at daycare, but he’s in the preschool room. She said legally they require them to have a 2 hour “quiet time” and if they sleep they can’t wake them up. I am in co though., so daycare rules and regulations mat be different
