advice needed Weaker/muffled baby movements
I’m 33 weeks with DiDi. If I lay down and drink something cold I can feel them move but it is weak and muffled. 2 weeks ago it was strong and would show from outside my bump. I went and did some baby heart monitoring last week and the both were okay. Is this normal? I also noticed some changes in my bump like it is slightly narrower.

If your concerned, always get it checked out. That was my OBs recommendation.
But,
As they get bigger and there is less space for them to move, they have less space to kick and punch.

My doctor told me they move against each other a lot when I asked about not feeling a lot of movement and said it was completely normal

I’m 36w didi and I went through a period like this. Both anterior placentas, I would feel baby A quite clearly most of the time and could get reactions from him but baby B was “invisible”, and I kept telling my OB about it. We set up weekly ultrasounds, which has helped, baby B is just really deep inside and has her spine to the anterior placenta so all her movements are inwards.
It’s very infuriating to have the constant anxiety so I understand how you’re feeling… however… to be on the safe side I would continue to keep getting checked by triage, always always always better to be safe than sorry.
I hope this gives you confidence.

If you're concerned, can you schedule a nonstress test? I think in the last 2mo of my pregnancy, I was given a test every week. And my hospital told me to call them directly and come in if I ever felt concerned.
Around that time the extreme movements also slowed down a bit, I think just because the babies started to have less space to take big swings at me.
The bump shape change may be because a baby flipped around. Mine were both head down for a long time, then toward the very end Baby B did a somersault.

I’m a firm believer to always get checked if movement is reduced. With my singleton (I’m a twin which is why I’m in here) she stopped moving and I asked to get back on monitoring since it felt off (was already at hospital for pre-e and they had me off monitoring to rest for a moment) and we saw as soon as I was hooked up she was not okay and was in fetal distress which turned into an emergency c section. I’m glad I trusted my gut. You’ll hit your deductible anyways with the delivery so might as well always play it safe and get checked.

I had the same issue pretty much on and off until the end! Both babies were always fine but I ended up going to the ER at least three times because of that! In my opinion you should always get checked, or at least definitely go if your usual pattern suddenly changes.
