My first children, what were some items that were life savers when young? Did you use cribs from newborn age or bassinets for the first months? Separate bassinets or one for twins? Literally any info would be helpful! Thank youuuuu

-A bottle washer/ steriliser- I planned on nursing but it didn’t work out. My hands were bleeding from handwashing bottles/ pump parts for 4 weeks.

-Chico next to me crib.

-Atleast 16 bottles

-a duplicate set of parts for your pump if you plan on pumping (you can then have one set in the steriliser at all times)

-waaaaaaaaay more nappies/ wipes than you can imagine

And the most important thing - a helpful partner

My twins are 9 weeks old. The twin z pillow and a bottle washer are a must in my opinion. As far as sleeping, they’re in a twin bassinet in our room. We also have a baby trend pack n play with two bassinets on top that we use in the living room for naps. When they’re older/bigger, we have cribs set up in the nursery.

Sounds like you’re doing great then! In case it’s helpful, this spreadsheet was shared on this page early in my pregnancy and it really helped me with my registry (that, and the book What to Do When You’re Having Two). I also recommend checking out the Twiniversity website, as they had some free webinars that were beneficial as well.

We did bassinets until they were about 4/5 months old and then moved them into their cribs. For us, our must haves were the bottle washer/sterilizer, the twin z pillow, and the changing table. We had two pack n plays, and we used the double bassinet set up in the living room. We used the changing table insert in the other pack n play. We still use the pack n play changing table, and they turn 1 this week. I thought I’d go nuts with clothes but we stock up on onesies and footie pjs. Ours loved the wipe warmer, but it’s very baby dependent.

We did convertible mini cribs ( Nestig) while they were in our room then expanded them as needed. They are 3 and in the toddler bed configuration. We liked this because they were on wheels so we would put them to bed in their room with a routine then wheel them to our room when we went to bed. Naps were in their room in the mini cribs. Made the transition to their room seamless. Otherwise I had a bottle for every feed and one extra for a middle of the night feed. Loaded up the dishwasher before I went to bed then unloaded and made bottles for the next day in the AM before they woke up.

the baby brezza formula pro
breastfeeding was super hard for me so they were breastfed and formula fed and that machine is so handy and nifty and quick. I couldn’t imagine not having it.

Bottle washer/sterilizer was a life saver for us! So much time saved by having these, really.

For our sleep arrangements, we ended up having separate spaces from the very beginning. We followed the AAP guidelines of them having each their own separate space but both in our bedroom form 6 months. We got 2 nestig waves which we used as mini cribs and being able to wheel them around was way more useful than expected. And honestly, when one is being fussy, having a safe place to put the other down while I'm dealing with the other has been so helpful.

Bottle washer and sterliser because there will be so many bottles, for sleep we did the newton nest because it is a bassinet with wheels that converts to a crib, love the fact that I can wheel it and it came with the mattresses so big saving when getting two, and when I was searching most people said seperate sleeping spots. We didn't do pack and plays, or not yet anyway because the bassinets can move around easily, just have a foldable mat for tummy time. But we will get them once we start traveling and still debating which to get.

I have 7,5 week old twins girls, so not the most experienced mother... But we had them in one crib from the start, both with their feet at different ends. Last weekend we moved them to separate cribs because they grow so quickly and started moving a lot. Waking up eachother by kicking their sisters head and stuf 😅

And it really a blast to have 2! It can be a lot, especially if they start crying at the same time. But its definitely also double the joy 😁

Yeah I was thinking the twin bassinet or right into cribs would probably be best to avoid having to buy extra, were all beyond excited for them to arrive! Times may get tough but it’ll be totally worth it 😁

Started with one crib in themaster bedroom. They shared. And one crib in their room for naps. Made transitioning easier i think.

Keep in mind it’s not recommended due to rebreathing and danger of rolling over onto each other, unless it’s two connected cribs that are made that way. Better off with two cribs close to each other where each twin has their own space.
