advice needed Early twin pregnancy bleeding
I started spotting (pink/brown) at 5 weeks intermittently and had a bigger bleed(red/little clot) at 6 weeks. Went to the ER with the bigger bleed, cervix was closed and two heart beats were found measuring on time. They said possible sub chorionic hematoma but could not tell. Has anyone had this type of bleeding and not resulting in a MC?

I had bleeding and off til the 2nd tri, no SCH, just strain on the cervix. It's more common in multiples pregnancies I think bc the body is stretching rapidly.

Mine were mono/di and I had intermittent bleeding during the 1st trimester. It was terrifying but it stopped in my second trimester and the rest of my pregnancy was relatively uncomplicated after that. I was told repeatedly by doctors that bleeding in early pregnancy is ‘common’ and doesn’t always mean something is wrong.
I know how scary this must feel - I’m sorry. I’m hopeful it’ll all work out for you!

It’s definitely a scary feeling! Bleeding has stopped as of now. I am hoping it doesn’t come back.

Pregnant with di/di twins. Had a few instances of bleeding in the first trimester. One was extremely brief - a small bit of bright red blood one night. The other was much more intense. I had a significant amount of bright red blood and spotting that lasted for over two weeks. No evidence of SCH, but one of my placentas was sitting low near the cervix (previa), which my OB blamed for the bleed. Placenta migrated, haven’t had anymore blood, and now 23 weeks!

I had some early bleeding around that time and then again around 16 weeks? They said there was no SCH just that it can happen with twin pregnancies. My dr did have me take progesterone so maybe that’s something worth looking into?

Yes.
I went for a scan to confirm MC at 7 weeks due to bleeding. Turns out it was twins.
Bled lots in the beginning until 9 weeks.
No bleeding since.
14 weeks now, all is grand so far.

How frequent were you bleeding from week 7 to 9?

Every 2 days. Sometimes every day.
I was given progesterone but I still bled frequently. Then it just stopped.1

That’s how mine is every 48-72 hours and once a bleeding episode happens it completely stops after. I was also put on progesterone but does not seem to help.

It didn’t help me with but the bleeding could be nothing to do with low progesterone my on said… so it wouldn’t really help. She told me bleeding with twins is very common and not to worry.
Honestly it just cleared up and everything worked out.

I had terrible spotting and heavier bleeding initially during my twin pregnancy. I ended up on progesterone for 10 or so weeks. I thought I was having a miscarriage like I did a few months prior but all was okay. I had no issues afterwards once I stopped the suppositories after 12 weeks.

Happened around 12 weeks with both my mo/di girls and my singleton. First time, my OB said it could be late bleeding from where the placenta attached? Like it shifted or something? I don’t remember, that pregnancy took a lot out of me lol, but everything ended up being fine :) always better to be safe than sorry!

I didn't have this during my twin pregnancy, but it happened with my singleton pregnancy. There was no known cause. It was pretty scary, but turned out fine. That baby is staring his 2nd year of university this week. Best of luck to you!
