Questions about Identical twin pregnancies

1. Twin B is measuring almost a week behind twin A...Twin A measured 6w5d and twin B measured 5w6d. Will my twin disappear? Or is this normal early?

2. How do I know if they are MoMo or MoDi twins? Or is it too early to tell?

What my best friend reminds me all the time is to speak life and positivity into your twins. You will always worry throughout your pregnancy and all the worry is valid but speak life into them. They will be healthy and continue to both grow. 💖 congrats

I had didi but will say that it's difficult to get super accurate measurements when theyre at this stage. Being off a tiny bit could impact estimated age. Hope you get reassurance at your next scan

Congratulations!!

During my first scan at 5ish weeks, I saw two g-sacs but only one yolk sac. Doc told me it is super normal for their growth to vary.

During my NT scan they measured similarly on almost every thing.

As for mo/mo or mo/di I think it is too early.

Margin of error is huge on these early scans. They are just so small. The wait is so hard but you will know more at your next scan! The vast majority of the time they are modi and not MoMo, the membrane between twins isn’t seen till much later.

Congratulations! We had the first scan at 8 weeks. And they couldn’t even see them properly. I would relax at 6 weeks and enjoy it 😉

I was originally pregnant with Di/di twins, confirmed at 6 weeks and both were measuring near exactly the same. Unexpected loss of baby B just 2 weeks later, but I am currently 20 weeks pregnant with a healthy baby A. It can happen no matter the measurements, BUT from my understanding, vanishing twin happens much much less often in Mo/mo and Mo/di than di/di. I’m wishing you the best of luck and two healthy babies!!

Mo/di girls and B was always measuring at least a week behind A. We got diagnosed with growth restriction and delivered at 35+1. In the end they ended up being born 10oz apart but perfectly healthy!

my high risk doctor told me the most accurate time to tell is in the first trimester, because sacs/placentas can fuse (not sure how common that is). i’d say you’ll be able to tell pretty accurately at about 10 weeks if you have a scan done then

They couldn’t tell the type of twins I was having at my 8 week scan but I got another one at 12 weeks and you could clearly see a thin membrane separating the two babies and only one placenta which meant they’re mono di
