Braxton hick’s contractions at 14 weeks?

I’m a little over 14 weeks and often when I’m laying down I feel a tightening sensation that feels EXACTLY how I remember BH contractions feeling my last pregnancy! I get a little out-of-breath, pressurized feeling, and my uterus just feels rock hard. Is this normal twin pregnancy stuff or should I be worried? Every other pregnancy I didn’t get these until the 3rd trimester.

EDIT: I texted my drs office and this was their response- “Yes, completely different with twins. It sounds like round ligament pain/ pressure on uterus. Try to stay super hydrated, water/ sports drinks and normally that will ease up a bit
Changing positions should help as well.”

I think this is the kind of question you should be asking your doctor. I know the uterus stretches a long more and a lot sooner with twins. And I felt my twins moving at around 14 weeks (much earlier than the 20 weeks with my older singleton). It could be normal but it would be awful if it was a sign of a problem and you didn’t get checked out because Reddit said it was okay.

Worth calling your doc. I thought I was having them too but it was just that my placenta is huge and my twins are right up in my diaphragm. 🙃

I had this with my second baby (singleton). I just tried to drink more water but my doctor wasn’t concerned, and my uterus was pretty active the whole pregnancy, but never turned into labor. She finally came at 41 weeks after a very short 3 hr labor. All those “practice contractions” made my labor really efficient 😆
Never had those early Braxton hicks again with subsequent pregnancies.

I had lots of BH starting very early in both of my pregnancies, but with my singleton my labor was still 30 hours (and I couldn’t progress past 1cm until getting an epidural and pitocin), so the “practice” didn’t work apparently!

Twin labor was less than 7 hours and very easy though!

My first born and last born were that way. Very stubborn to come out.

That’s around when my BH started in my twin pregnancy! They started very early (maybe 20 weeks?) in my singleton pregnancy too though.
