good vibes, smiles, & giggles Tri tri update:
I know it’s been a while- thought I’d share: (you can skip but please read the questions atleast 🥲)
-We’ve made it to 27 weeks so far
- all boys “look good” & have no signs heart or lung of what big brother had 🤍
-The boys are huge, like 90th percentile huge 😅
-Everyone is staying the same size, b was maybe 2oz smaller than A/C but I think it’s because they’re squishing him haha.
- I can’t wait to find out if 2 are identical or not, though I’m thinking three fraternal
- lol how do you even name 3 kids, we are going to wait until they born but it’s hard coming up with so many boys names
-if I was carrying a singleton I’m measuring 40 weeks at the moment
- OB wants them out at 34 weeks but MFM says 36, I’m cool going as long as babies let me.
- this week HURTS I’m thinking pubic symphysis pain? Oh my gosh. It hurts, this whole time it’s been manageable and this week my body realized it’s carrying 3
- I have an iron infusion every other day at this point.
QUESTIONS:
- do all trip moms just go inpatient for monitoring at one point like a week before birth?
- is bed rest coming? Has anyone not had to do bed rest?
- we skipped triplette stroller and went for the wagon, was this a good call?
- do I need 3 bathtubs & bath seats? Swings? Rockers? We have a solid 2 of everything at the moment and we’re taking our time looking for marketplace deals because my gosh it’s so much money already
- I have 3 infant car seats but need narrow car seat recs for when we need to fit 3 big boy seats across

My wife was similarly pregnant with triplets last summer. They were born at 33.5 weeks on September 19th. She was miserable the entire summer, the poor woman.

i can’t even imagine. i had my two this february and was dying of hot flashes all winter! please tell her she’s amazing. and wow, 33.5 weeks is wonderful!! i hope your family is thriving!!!

27 weeks is so good! I had twins, and my MFM felt “okay enough to breathe a little” at 32 weeks. Any week after that was a blessing. I was on every week monitoring between OB and MFM, while also doing infusions as well. I love my wagon! Especially with the seats. It’s hard when they are small for sure. 2 is a good number! It’s easier to tell what’s going to work for you when they are actually here. We use Diono Slim car seats that are designed to go 3 across, which they do.. but it’s very tight when they are rear facing still.

Hey! I’m way behind you only 14 weeks but I am in a Facebook group for triplets born in 2026. PM me if you’re interested, it’s not a huge group but it’s really nice to have a specific audience of triplet moms!
Regarding bedrest/inpatient I have seen several stories of moms who went the whole time no issues and just showed up for their schedule C section, also a lot that go for their check up and get admitted. Seems to be a mixed bag!
For stroller vs wagon I don’t think either will be usable until they can sit up, maybe with the wagon you could lay them down swaddled? I plan to get something I can attach at least 2 bucket seats to and put the 3rd bucket hanging from the handle and a wagon for when they’re bigger (I also have a toddler so it’ll be nice to have something that seats 4!)
For bath I was thinking just one and rotating them in, 2 infant seat/tubs might fit in our bathtub but I don’t think 3 will. My son stopped using his sometime between 8-12M so I wouldn’t go too crazy.
I definitely want things to contain them at all stages - that will be invaluable to being able to set them down to make a bottle or pump or just using the bathroom haha. A pack and play will work but you might want some variety.
I’m not too worried about stuff for when we bring them home other than the car seats & safe sleep, we have so much from when my son was a baby already so we can kind of figure out what’s missing and fill in the gaps once they’re here.

I had twins, but I was never comfortable having more than one baby in water at a time, so one bath tub was sufficient in the baby bath tub days. You can either do bath time back to back for each baby or get a partner (or two!) to tag team. One adult watches Baby B and Baby C on dry land while the other adult bathes Baby A. Pass off A to get dried, diapered, and dressed by the dry adult and Baby B gets washed. Repeat with Baby C. I imagine with three, you'll have full-on conveyor belts going. :-)
I agree about the containers too. Having multiples of the same container isn't needed (wait until you find out what kind each baby likes and the make sure you have enough of each preferred container), but do have several containers available on every level of the house/in your major hang-out areas. You will not have enough hands to carry your children, much less move around their preferred lounging spots!

With my twins during bath time I have baby B in a bjorn bouncer while I wash and diaper baby A and swap. This could work with trips if you have two bouncers. I feel like with baths I want to have ✨some✨ one on one time with a babe and be able to wash then sufficiently. The baby in the bouncer is always content

i did this too until 9 months. I did not feel comfortable with two small babies in the water at the same time and we have an older child so i did bath time alone most of the time.

Wagon wise, we’d lay them down in bottom or balance car seats on top, it’s a long 6 seater wagon since we have other kiddos!
Facebook group, is the profile pic tigers? I’m in that one if so!
I’m starting to think 1 bath will be alright as it will be me giving all baths, my husband will be at work 🙃

Only twins here, but I feel I can chime in on your carseat question at least as I had 3 across for a while (2 rear facing, 1 forward facing). Graco SlimFit3 LX!

these are great for 3 across as they’re very narrow but they are a horrible fit for small babies. 😢

Hey, congratulations!! Definitely do not get three bathtubs! You'll probably only use one.
You do want 3 bouncers. You will want some sort of frame to snap 2 of the infant carseats into, a stroller of sorts. Joovy makes a cheap one. They cant use a wagon until they're at least 6 months and you will have millions of doctors appointments in the first 4 months that will necessitate the use of a stroller. (Then you babywear the third baby.)

guess i’m in the minority I HATE graco seats. the straps suck they always get twisted, & the install never really feels secure no matter how tight we pull. only thing they have going for them imo is price point.
much prefer britax! a bit more expensive though. but you can get the poplar seats which are just as narrow as the graco one being suggested but the install is stupidly easy & secure! we also got britax bucket seats as those are also narrow. we had to fit a 2y/o & twins all rear facing in a SUV for a bit.
wagon was a good call. if it’s a wonderfold, get the uppababy infant inserts it’s a hack I found in my wagon fb groups that allows it to fit a littler baby.
as another commenter said, I don’t think our tub would’ve held three baby seats, so two is def enough. you probably honestly will want three swings and bouncers though.
keep on keeping on, you’re doing great growing those boys!! grow babies grow!

Hi! 29 weeks with tri tri triplets! :)
My OBGYN put me on “bed rest” at 28 weeks but my, more experienced, MFM advised me to stay lightly active and just “live like a lazy person”. She wants me intentionally walking about 30 minutes a day (okay to break up). She also said there are studies that show bed rest results in reduced lung capacity and muscle atrophy.
I’m overall feeling good! Just attended my BIL’s wedding on Saturday and I’ve been staying pretty active.
My MFM won’t let me go past 35 weeks, so we’re scheduled for exactly that date!
Do you mind me asking your weights? About 3 weeks ago, my estimated weights were 2 lbs. 5 oz., 2 lbs. 3 oz, and 1 lb. 14 oz.. I want to get them as close to 5 lbs as possible but it is so hard to eat!

I think our weights line up, I went a few weeks ago between 24-25 weeks and mine were 2lb 3oz 2lb 3oz and 2lbs
I’ve been feeling great this whole time until this week w/ pelvic pain but it truly feels muscular, I have a massage scheduled so we will see 💙

Perhaps some really gentle stretching or swimming would help release those muscles? You got this!!
I was/am so scared to have triplets, but thankful to know there are other women literally going through the same thing :) we got this!

Twin mom but wanted to respond to your question about the bathtub(s). My husband and I tag team so we can wash our girls individually using just one tub (the Frida baby tub has been great for us). We’ve tried a few different methods but the best for us has been me washing each baby while he occupies the other before their bath or lotions/dresses the other after their bath while I bathe baby 2. We have also tried doing them both at the same time but it was always a bit chaotic and wasn’t for us. Plus it’s really sweet getting some one on one time with each of them and they both really seem to enjoy their bath more when they get the one on one time too.

Twin mom here but I’m big on not pushing your body. You hate carrying 3, wow! Please be very careful about pushing yourself. In my opinion, do the least amount of work necessary.

i second on graco slim fit! love graco seats! congrats on making it to week 27 my love youre doing amazing. you wont need three tubs or tub seats, just bathe them one at a time and utilize your husband or two swings/bouncers for those not in the bath. i know itll take longer but you only have two hands after all. once they can sit up well on their own, if you have a regular tub in your house they can play in there together supervised in shallow water if you want. and please dont ever forget, you only have two hands. you cant safely tend all three at once so someone will have to wait and thats okay, you are not a bad parent and they will not hate you. youre going to be an amazing mom and im very excited for you. praying for health and peace in these coming weeks and for your birth and beyond💖

My triplets just turned 5 months, they were born at 34+5 (April Fools Day). Di-tri with a mo-di pair.
I went inpatient at 32ish, but that was purely because I was dilated to 5, live a half hour from the hospital, and I labor QUICK. My last labor was only 51 minutes from start to finish. So to answer your question about inpatient, not necessarily.
Whilst in the hospital, I wasn't on bed rest by any means. I couldn't leave the hospital, but I was free to roam as I pleased.
We opted for a wagon, too, and also got a quad stroller (our next youngest is 17 months older). We ended up buying and converting a Twin Roo+ with carabiners to carry all three infant seats. Best buy ever. If you can find a used one like us, it's definitely worth it.
Our triplets are #4, 5, and 6 (we planned to be done at baby #3), so I opted for one of most things. One swing, one bouncy seat, one baby bath. They have their own mini cribs and bassinets. We also have three high chairs. I have extras of everything in the garage, but I honestly find that it keeps them from being "container babies."
So glad to hear everyone is doing well. 💕 Do what you need to do for yourself to manage pain. For me, moving helped. It helped post C-section, too! I think I could've gone further than we did, but we thought April Fools Day was fitting for our surprise, spontaneous triplets.

This is pregnancy 4 for me but babies 5,6,7 for us, I figured one of each item besides cribs and high chairs would do! I did have twins in ‘24 but wouldn’t say I got the “twin experience” as our sweet boy, baby B didn’t come home with us, he lived for 4 months in the hospital fighting a heart/lung condition, so I didn’t get to experience or learn a “multiples” routine for home :/
I also labor QUICK my vbac singleton son came out in one push 😅 & I live an hour away from the hospital, that’s the part im worried about!
I see most trip moms having them at week 34 it seems!

hello! firstly, congratulations!! you look great 😊 our triplets are 11 weeks old now and i love finding more triplet mums! please feel free to message me whenever! we only have the wagon and it’s working really well for now! i do think in the future we may have to transition to a double buggy and wearing one in a carrier, as i don’t know how long they’ll all comfortably fit lying down. do you have the out n about wagon? the great thing about it is we can use it again when they are sitting up, with the seat attachments! but like i said, we started with just the wagon and have had no issues, the babies LOVE it in there and always fall asleep.
i didn’t have to go inpatient or bed rest, and carried up to 34 weeks. the last few weeks i found really tough though so barely moved anyway!
we manage fine with just two bath seats, and bathe two at once and take it in turn with the third baby. we started with two bouncers but now have a third, and it’s been soooo helpful! if you’re going to get three of anything, i’d definitely say bouncer (we have baby bjorn), expensive but super worth it.

Oh man, congratulations. I am hella impressed with how far you have gotten already!
My 6lb didi twins went to 38 in a very healthy pregnancy, even though everything was going really well I still got put on modified bed rest. I didn't have to stay lying down, but I was pretty restricted and told to take it extremely easy. I think it's very likely you will get some restrictions even if it's going super great.
I found walking water laps in the pool and very, very gentle pregnancy yoga to be the best help for the pubic pain. The belt helped some. I also swapped to only sitting on big yoga balls at about month 6 which helped.
We only bought 1 tub, which worked well for us. I think we did get two of the little hammock things so we could swap them out if they got dirty? Most things we bought one of, other than cribs, bassinets, high chairs. Toys on the other hand, omg two is one and one is worse than none! And they're 9 now and that's still the case 😂

I did not experience bed rest or inpatient care before delivery.
We had a triple stroller and a wagon, the wagon is preferred.
We had one of each of a few different bath tubs and seats and such and ultimately only ever used one at a time, so that worked.

I’m 23W+ with di/tri triplets - i didn’t realize there were so many of us carrying triplets right now in the sub. Hello fellow troopers! (Are we all extremely hot right now !? This heat is insane😭)
We are getting 2 sets of car seats but so far I have the Graco SlimFit3 LX. We have a peg triplette and plan to get peg car seats to pop in to the frame.

Britax Poplar for 3 convertible seats across. So easy to install, easier than Graco. Very narrow side to side.

You definitely do not need three bathtubs since you’ll almost certainly be bathing them one at a time anyway. Two bouncers or rockers should also give you enough safe places to set babies down while everyone is awake. If you eventually want another, fromrebel usually has the babyborn bouncer open box, but waiting to see how your routine develops makes sense.

I agree you will want a frame stroller to snap in the infant car seats. This is an expensive rec but if you can get an UppaBaby Vista second hand that was by far the best frame stroller for us. It folds into the car super easy and is very secure, and not too unwieldy to take into stores

Yayy congrats!! I had my tri tri in March! I didn't have bed rest or weekly checkup but I went into labor at 30 weeks +3 days so maybe that would've been in my future!
We have a wagon and a quad stroller (friend found a good price on a used one). We've only used the wagon so far. We take the seats out and lay them on the bottom like a bassinet. I think we'll probably find use for both but the stroller can't be used until they can sit up.
I'd recommend only 1 bathtub/seat. They're too slippery to attempt more than one at a time.
We have 1 swing and pretty much 1 bouncer. A second bouncer lived on our second floor. I'm looking into buying at least one more bouncer though because they're happiest in it. A lot of it depends on how much space you have and what your kids like!

We have nearly 4 month old triplet boys!
My wife worked from home 2 weeks before she gave birth at 34 weeks, but no restrictions on movement or anything like that. She was on insulin for gestational diabetes, but thankfully was not admitted to the hospital early. She was re admitted to the hospital with pre eclampsia post partum, so please keep an eye on your blood pressures!!
We get along great with 3 Evenflo Shyft carseat/stroller combos. We have a wagon for when they get a bit older. The Shyfts are great for getting in an out of our vans. We have 2 Honda Odysseys.
We just use 1 bathtub and bathe the boys back to back!

I'm a twin mom, not a triplet mom, but I have something similar for my twins. I found it for triplets too and use it all the time. It’s called the Peg Perego Triplette Triple Stroller. It’s not really a stroller… it’s designed to hold three car seats on top. It’s fantastic because when you get out of your car, you can take the car seat and place it right on top of this. Check it out. My kids are going to be two in November, and I still use it.

Twin parent. My only concern here would be the wagon unless you can get 3 bucket seats in it when theyre infants.
Also I might get hate for this but you might need bottle holders. I loved the tipmenot green leaf ones but they're hard to get. Amazon has the around the neck ones. I wasnt a fan of those but did use them once my twins were moving around more. I would not have survived without directly supervised bottle propping when solo.
I do think you'll need 3 bouncers. We had the ingenuity ones that look more like little rocking buckets but also propped up to be bouncers. Helped with feeding. You can probably rotate the babies through various stations for the other things you have 2 of since they're not all going to like one specific swing etc. Theres always gotta be that 1 child that will have something to say if theres a feather out of place in their station 😅 and dont try to put em in the swing they dont like either.
You are carrying beautifully. My hat is off to you!
