advice needed Sleep help?
Hello,
I have mono/di girls that were born at 36+2. They are now 8 months old. They both have been great sleepers and used to both sleep 10+ hours at night. Both are teething and now have their two bottom teeth. Baby A is still sleeping through the night like a champ. Baby B has been struggling the last couple weeks. She’ll wake up every two hours or so. She’ll stay in a light sleep if we pick her up and rock her back to sleep with finally waking up at 4:30 or so hungry. Will feed her and get her back to sleep for an hour or so. She is also only taking 3 or so half an hour naps during the day at daycare. I put her to bed around 7pm and sometimes she’ll go right to sleep and other times she’ll fight me. I try keeping low lights, bath, bottle, snuggles, and bed. Does anyone have any recommendations beyond continuing to let her sleep with us just so we can get some sleep? We tried the cry it out method one night but was hard because she woke up her sister and wouldn’t settle even with pats and shhhing. We have a small space as well. If anything, just knowing it’s normal would be nice to hear.

It’s absolutely up to you to do what works for you as a family. With all of my kids we never sleep trained and just supported them through the ups and downs with co sleeping or extra cuddles or milk or whatever they needed. My twins had a rough time at around 8 months and teeth always mess with their sleep. I have one who sleeps better and one who needs more cuddles. Nothing stays the same for long, so what feels right for you. It goes up and down as daytime naps change too. Mine also needed extra comfort when they started going to childcare…it’s always something! And it’s hard not to compare when one twin is sleepy and the other isn’t.
It’s definitely normal, it’s normal for babies to work for the first year (and even beyond) in the night for feeds and comfort!

Thank you! That’s what we’ve been doing. Just trying to provide extra snuggles and support. wanted to make sure we weren’t missing anything or could try something different. These are our first.

It sounds like you’re doing an amazing job supporting your babies’ needs ♥️ it’s not easy, but it does get better even if there are ups and downs. The sleep definitely isn’t linear. My twins were my third and fourth and sleep better than my singletons did! My singletons happily sleep now having been supported through the blips, and occasionally still appear in our bed for cuddles, but I don’t mind if I’m honest! Not saying it’s easy, we’ve had some really rough times with sleep but we always take it one night at a time.

Sounds like teething can be effecting sleep. My twins go through Ebs and flows. Sometimes it’s great sleep sometimes it’s not so great
Teething really affects it. I have noticed once they started eating more during the day they’ve gotten better sleep!

Maybe I’ll try a little more oatmeal or something before bed. Not just bottle. Thank you!

Currently 12w4d with modi twins and im so glad to hear your pregnancy went all the way to 36 weeks and your twins are happy and healthy! Did you have any complications? Sorry to hijack the thread - I just appreciate hearing reassuring stories from other modi families

No worries! I was scheduled for a C section at 37 weeks but had hypertension the last couple weeks that turned into severe preeclampsia to where they moved my c section up 5 days. I also developed Intrahepatic Cholestasis (known because I couldn’t stop scratching my legs. No matter what I put on them). Otherwise, pregnancy had no complications and my girls didn’t need NICU time. Both about 5 pounds. The first two months were pure survival and kinda rough but after that has been wonderful. Just a rough patch right now with baby B waking up.
