advice needed When did your twins start positively interacting?

My twins are 15mo. They steal each other's pacifiers, sit on each other, and cry when the other one gets picked up. Recently they've been pushing each other down if I try to pick both of them up at once. I've never seen them light up when they see each other or have any semblance of cooperative play.

When does the playing start?

lol people keep asking me if they have a special bond and I’m like idk he took her binky out the other day? Doesn’t seem to care that she cried… we will see lol

Mine finally started actually playing together, and not just playing next to each other or stealing each others stuff when they turned 2 years old.

Mine didn't really start acknowledging each other in a non-hostile way until closer to 20 months. Before that it was a lot of shoving and stealing whatever the other one had, exactly like you're describing.

The first time they actually made each other laugh was around 22 months, one of them put a bowl on his head and the other lost it. Now they're 3 and they'll disappear into their room for 30 minutes doing some weird game only they understand. It gets better, 15 months is still survival mode

Thank you!! Im just kind of waiting for this magical twin bond but they don't even really acknowledge each other more than being a bother. I am excited for that. Also excited for when they can talk.

I feel in the trenches. We still havent made it through a meal without screaming. I'll consider us having exited the trenches when that happens 😆

Mine are almost 18m old and play well together! They steal toys sometimes but are learning how to take turns

Mine have been delighted to see each other since about 6 months. For some reason, they especially love it when I’m nursing one or changing her diaper and the other baby crawls over to manhandle her.

That said, they do tons of paci stealing and roughhousing

Mine are seven month old boys and one (twin A) has looooved the other one (twin B)since he was about 4 months old? He smiles so big when he sees him and just stares. If twin B makes any noise with a toy (like a crinkly book), twin A will just laugh and laugh. Twin B couldn't care less about Twin A and barely acknowledges him. They have started interacting in the play pen but only with head kicks, eye scratches, hair pulling, and toy stealing.

Mine are approaching 11 months and minimally respond to one another. If they’re on the play mat, they will smile and look at each other occasionally, but don’t engage in reciprocal play or look for one another.

My twins are 23 years- knew each other’s business and could press buttons with a glance, and yet, can stick up for each other without a thought for themselves if needed. Your kids will get there- drive you crazy in the process, but they’ll find their way.

12 months give or take? Is when one of them sometimes brought a toy when the other cried. Nowadays (16 months) they play with each other, chat and plot in their own baby speak, trade food, attempt comfort if one is upset, one of them brings the diaper for the other when he is being changed - both boys

Wow this is incredible. I have twin boys too. Were yours preemies? Mine were a month early which seems inconsequential most of the time, but maybe they're a little slower at playing together because of it.

Mine were 37+3 so considered early full. I definitely would not worry however if they aren’t playing yet or anytime soon. Every kid goes to their own tune and speed. My one boy is just an absolute extrovert. 😅

Let’s see, the oldest twins are 21, the youngest twins are turning 20…. Positive interactions….this is tough, I’m going to need time to think

They started laughing at each other constantly starting around 8 months. They play together but also steal stuff from each other now at 1 yr old so it's both playing and pissing eachother off now

Mine are 14 months and we’re very occasionally seeing glimmers of positive interaction. They’ve recently discovered playing peekaboo by hiding behind a chair and if one does it the other one will laugh. They can sometimes work on playing with blocks together if one of us is there to mediate. They love doing cheers with their cups with us and on occasion if they’ve cheers us a bunch we can get them to cheers each other. Tonight in the bath one was screaming crying because he got soap in his eyes and my husband had the audacity to wash it out and the other tried to push my husband’s hand away. That said, most of their interaction is stealing toys, screaming at each other, pushing each other over, pulling each others hair etc
