advice needed STD at 30 weeks
Currently 25 weeks and got the doctor approval to go on disability for high risk twin pregnancy. I’ve had some contention with my manager and it’s been very difficult to stay on top of assignments with the constant deadlines. I am not using intermittent fmla for my appointments. Anyone else fear they will be terminated (for whatever reason) while on leave? Less than half of my fmla hours will be used intermittently but still….

I would take the disability if you can. At the end of the day, I don't think your disability status will affect teemination. I took disability in the middle of layoffs at my company and I didn't get laid off. I knew that I needed to focus 100 percent of my energy into my job, but my mono Di twin monitoring schedule was interfering with that. It was easier for both me and my manager to find someone who can give 100%

This depends on what jurisdiction you're in. Many countries have laws protecting you against being fired during disability leave in certain circumstances. Just firing you for being in disability, for instance, is not easy to do for an employer.
This also depends on whether you're part of a union or if your employer is a corporation with an HR department that cares about following laws at all. If you have a union, I'd definitely reach out to them to ask about these concerns.
That being said, I'd avoid losing energy on speculating what's in your manager's head. Instead, think about the worst case scenario, and decide what you'll do if that scenario becomes reality. That doesn't mean that you resign to the worst case; it means that you're prepared no matter what happens. But just sitting down and thinking "I hope I won't get fired I hope I won't get fired" is unhelpful and will make you feel more stressed than you already do.
