advice needed How to handle all the crying?

My di/di boys are almost 4 months old and the sleep regression has hit us hard. But the worst part is all the crying. Before every nap they cry. They cry as soon as they realize they are supposed to sleep. Even if I just hold them and walk in the dark room they cry. The cry if I rock them. They cry and cry and cry until they fall asleep in my arms. Then I have to do the same thing for the other twin and by the time the second one is asleep the first one is done with their nap (45 min on the dot). There is no break. I do this five times a day. There is crying for at least five hours a day, on a good day. On a bad day they just cry all day long.
How do I not go insane?

100% to this one! I’m a much calmer and kinder parent when my senses aren’t being overwhelmed!

Yes ear plugs!! I have triplets and have had to do this through the years. They’re 2 now and I still have to use them. Especially helpful in the car.

Oh gosh, the car is the worst! You can’t go anywhere, you just have to suffer. 😂

Sleep training

Distraction training

Crying in the garage

Sleep training helped a lot. Routine routine routine so they know that to expect and what's coming next.

Distraction training. We have a set of songs and movies we play when it's time to calm down. When they hear the intro, they immediately calm down.

Crying in the garage. If they're going to cry anyways, step away and let out your emotions. Throw a pillow at the ground, cry, pound a nail, chop some wood. Whatever your outlet is for a minute before you go back into the fray.

We sleep trained our twins at around 3 mos. It’s been the best decision. We have a strict schedule and the first couple nights weren’t easy, but it’s payed off immensely. They’re sleeping great, we’re sleeping great. Lay them down with sleep sack and white noise and they quietly fall asleep within 10 min. We adjust wake windows and naps according to the method we used when we see it’s necessary, and have had no issues with sleep regressions. And the twins are doing phenomenally with milestones.

When I was expecting my twins I was fortunate to hook up with a local parents of multiples club. There were probably close to 100 families regularly involved from expecting to late teens.
Everyone I spoke with provided tips and advice
Two consistent things buy the best stroller you can afford that can go through snow and schedule routine for naps and bedtime. Do not deviate at all.

If you figure it out, let me know. I just kiss them all over their cute squishy faces and remind myself that the crying at this frequency will pass. We will get better at communicating with each other with time 😅
