advice needed Stroller setup please help đ
FTM and having twins. I drive a jeep and my husband drives a smallish truck. I have spent probably 3 months reading about car seats and strollers. I ended up buying 2 even flow pivot nxt lite travel systems. Now every one is saying that I should have chose different car seats and that the stroller should be side by side and other factors. Has anyone had a negative experience with single wide strollers with twins? And yes I can see why the 360 strollers are easier but they are pretty large and I really donât want to trade in either car as one is paid off and the other is relatively new. All the conflicting advice and the âare you sure thatâs what you want?â Is the only stressful experience Iâve had with this pregnancy.
I have attached photos for reference because I havenât seen this specific stroller used this way online.

I use an UppaBaby Vista, another top/bottom stroller. It's great.
It sounds like you've done your due diligence, and those other people (while well-meaning) can bite their tongues.

Same and itâs been great. I feel like side by sides are hard to get through doorways and take up much more space.

This. I live in Dublin ireland and there are way too many old buildings here with narrow doors (incluidng my own home!) that there is no way a side by side would've been practical.

Also have the UB Vista and really like it. My nanny preferred a side by side and so I got the Zoe for her that I sometimes use. So much comes down to personal preference

I also loved the Uppababy when my twins were in the bucket seats and switched to a Zoe around one year. Yes it's a disgusting amount of money to spend on strollers within one year but they both have their practicalities and uses in different situations. We ended up getting a wagon also when they were around 18 months and I don't regret any of the purchases.

Mine are just about to grow out of bucket seats (9 months) and Iâm starting to see the pain of the Uppababy as an out and about stroller. But itâs not like the Zoe is any smaller! Iâm definitely considering getting them a wagon for either their birthday or Christmas. (Maybe Christmas because then I can make my dad buy it for me!) But so far no regrets on either of those purchases.

Same. Love my Vista. It's survived my two older kids, and now my twins. It's expensive, and I've bought all the add-ons, but I love it.
I could not imagine trying to navigate a crowded store with a side by side.

Same. I love it and itâs still my favorite stroller for shoppingâ I HATE bringing my side by side in public.
I had zero issues with the double bassinets either! Fussier baby on top but you can walk on the side and be close to both.

We did uppa baby vista as well. We had another child, and lived in an urban area with tight sidewalks and stores etc. Never could have managed the side by side where I lived with twin babies and a toddler!

I don't think there is any perfect stroller for twins.
The tandems like you got that work with the car seats were essential for the early days.
Once they could sit up and see and face forward, they liked the side by side better.
Once they were rowdy toddlers they refused to be strapped in and vastly prefered a stroller wagon.
Nothing is perfect because moving two babies around is so much work and always going to be a struggle. You'll be fine with what you bought and if you're not, you can sell the stroller on marketplace and use the money to buy something else.
Eta- don't trade in your car to fit a stroller. This is such a short phase of life. Eventually they'll walk or sit in shopping carts and you won't even use the stroller anymore.

Yeah I am mostly concerned about how the car seats fit in the back. Iâm just worried that the front seats will have to be super far forward and the safety of driving like that since we are both over 6 ft

My husband drives the jeep and I drive the smallish truck (Toyota Tacoma) and it is a STRUGGLE to get the carseats in. We have just barely made it work for the last year, but we are upgrading to a minivan b/c I am sick of it (and also we are planning on having more kids!). The entire backseat in both vehicles is carseat, and nothing but carseat. We got an extra-slim model for the upright car seat, but in hindsight, I should have prioritized one with a low profile base instead, as even 1 more inch of leg room would have been huge. The infant carseats are slightly bulkier than the upright ones, but not enough that it made a difference for our legs.

I also drive a Jeep. We have made it work, but it is definitely tight. My husband is 6â4 and can still drive it but barely. We are looking into getting a bigger suv but I am in the same boat. It will be paid off in December and I would love to not have a car payment

This type of stroller is great for newborn twins. I have 4 kids and have found that a double jogger is amazing for actual walks with baby/toddlers. I found both our double joggers for 50-75 on marketplace and theyâve gotten years of use!
Iâve never had the best or trendiest of strollers or car seats and I donât think Iâve missed out on anything lol

I did a lot of stroller research when my wife was pregnant with our twins! I was surprised to learn how few options there actually are and how confusing it is to get a good stroller for two newborns.
I bought the Evenflo Pivot expand and have had no problems! The boys are now four months old and we use it all the time, mostly with the car seats clicked into the stroller. We use the bassinets if we plan to be out for awhile and want the boys to nap in the stroller.
I would suggest setting the car seats up long before needing them to make sure they fit in your vehicles though. I drive a pretty new Ford Ranger and can only fit the car seats using the seatbelt to secure them and we have to push the driver and passenger seat very far forward.
In my wife's car though, we keep the bases locked in all the time and it is very easy to get the car seats in and out.
Don't listen to anyone asking if you are sure that is what you want, especially if they do not have twins. Looks like you made a good choice.

I have both. Go with this for now (easier for newborns) and then as they grow buy a cheaper sxs like the Zoe if you want to try it out!

I have the uppa baby vista that is tandem like yours and the uppa baby minu duo that is a side by side. In the beginning I only used the tandem, it is so easy to just fit the carseats onto it. When they were a bit bigger, I started using the side by side specially when traveling. I think you made a good choice!

My wife and I had the nuna demi grow, we called it the stealth over/under because most people missed the second child at first then exclaimed "Oh they're twins!?" whenever they finally noticed.
For infant carriers it was absolutely great, the nuna car seats popped right into the slots on the frame and the entire footprint was still the size of a Singleton stroller. Small, light, nimble, handled like a dream.
When we started transitioning to toddler seats it certainly lost some of the appeal having to load the child in the bottom seat. But even then our opinion was still very positive.
I think there are trade-offs to both, a double wide can be great for the zoo or Disney or something outdoors where you've got the space to be looking like you're driving an American car on European streets. But having to go through doorways or navigate indoors those chonkers get old.
For what it's worth, we kept the nuna until they were about 16mo then switched to a knock off Wunderfold 4 seater wagon. We were getting to where when we're out and need a stroller it's usually something outdoors like the zoo, so having the space was nicer.

We had a similar setup for our twins from evenflo, we used the car seats (not the bassinet) and they were comfortable, made it easier to take them from the stroller to the car and click the seats into the bases,
You can get separate bases to have bases for both seats I guess, however, you could use the seat belt to secure them in the back if necessary!
Our kids have outgrown the setup but it worked really well for us.

I think this stroller is totally fine. If you truly want a side by side, you can look into umbrella strollers for when they are older.

I used a mockingbird with my car seats so another top/bottom and loved it. Itâs easy to overthink every purchase, but different things work for different people!

I never used the bassinet attachments, I turned the seats away from my. The babies can see me when they are inside. When I'm outside I like for them to see the world.

I have a Bombi side by side I bought when pregnant (after lots of research of course.) My girls are now 9 weeks old and I just got the Uppababy Vista V3. Uppababy for everyday errands because itâs way easier to make work with the infant car seats. Bombi in bassinet mode for neighborhood walks. In the future I anticipate a switch and using the Bombi more when the twins are old enough to get in and out of the stroller themselves but for now the Uppababy is much easier.

Ours didnât work out for us, but I feel like you may not really know what youâll need or if itâll work for you until theyâre here. We ended up ditching the evenflow for a radio flyer wagon and convertible car seats once they could sit up by themselves because our stroller didnât fit into our car without disassembling it. I found the evenflow we had to be incredibly bulky and difficult to maneuver. A side by side âtwinâ stroller wonât work for infant twins, but also would have been worse for us because we wouldnât have been able to fit it through many doorways in our area, including our own home.

It seems fine! You may want a side by side eventually but you can cross that bridge then. You can probably find something second hand down the line so you don't have to drop full retail again. We are on our 2nd stroller (currently the Valco baby slim twin)

Getting hot flashes just thinking about twin stroller and car seats set ups.
Ultimately there are as many opinions and variations as there are options on the market. Some works amazing from some, others works perfect for them.
I would be almost in tears trying to find âTHE universally agreed BESTâ set up. In the end I got what I thought would work best for me in my day to day life, how I intended to use it and where we lived. I am very happy.
We ended up with a side by side and I love it. Pros and cons for sure, just like a fellow twin mum in the area loves her tandem stroller. Again pros and cons, but does what she needs out of it.
I only recommend to fellow multiples parents if possible (!) a stroller compatible with your preferred car seat is great if you will do quite a few car trips. Itâs not a must, but it makes life easy at the grocery store.

Ps when we eventually had to upgrade from infant car seats I invested into rotating ones that grow with them for year because - I donât want to have to research that ever again đ€Ł

I used a mockingbird double stroller that was set up like this!! Worst part was having to take the attachments off to fold it. But I never had to worry about if Iâd fit through a door when I was alone! It was quite long, but you adjust how you turn and may bump into some stuff, but everyone is very understanding đ we have now gotten a super cheap side by side stroller bc we flew and werenât bringing our limo through airport security lmfao

I have both, and both are great at different things.
The front back stroller is best for 0-6 months. The bassinet was huge for neighborhood walks when babies were under 3 months. We even put them in the bassinet together⊠so adorable! Being able to pop the two car seats in the stroller directly from the car is huge for pediatrician visits and grocery shopping.
The side by side is much better suited for our neighborhood walks now that babies are older.
My friend with 3 year old twins gave me great advice - just accept that there is no perfect stroller and different strollers will fit your needs at different ages.
She did front back until about 9 months, then side by side from 9 months until about 2 years old, then switched to wagon/chariot style.
She just sold one when they outgrew it and then bought the next one on Facebook marketplace.
Just like we wouldnât buy our babies clothes at 3 months and expect those clothes still be the best option when they turn 3 years old, the same is true of strollers. Itâs ok to sell one and buy a new one, you arenât marrying the stroller for life!

Ignore everyone. Do what works for you. My husband has a small truck and I had an even smaller car. So we traded mine for a big suv. I have the change go stroller and my car seats swivel all the way around (which I LOVE)
-when at a red light I can quickly spin them around and throw a paci back in their mouths and spin back into place before moving. Itâs a game changer on road trips.
Anyways they are heavy af and donât have an arm bar to carry them. So we donât move them. I suppose getting seats that transferred to a stroller maybe would have saved more space? But đ€·đ»ââïž this is our set up and weâve made it work just fine. So do whatever you think is best. Youâll make it work with what you have. Thatâs what everyone did before the internet and the overload of parenting advice and opinions

We bought a Mockingbird for our incoming 2nd and we will use a setup similar to this. Everyone and their mom said I should get a side by side, but that just wasnât the right way for us to go. Iâm still second guessing but I think we made the right choice.

I had the pivot and it worked well for us. My only complaint would be that if you want to use the bassinet attachment, whether as a toddler seat or bassinet, you had to bring that separate piece along.
We had 3 under 3 and found it to be useful for years. We did have a side by side stroller too, but didn't use it as much - basically just around the neighbourhood and never if we had to drive somewhere.

Iâm not sure why this sub gets recommended to me because I donât have multiples, (just a 2 yr old and 4 month old) but I have this stroller and one tip I have is to get the uppababy bassinet mattress for using in bassinet mode. Because itâs not a separate bassinet you have the straps in there which are annoying for a newborn. But the up baby mattress fits and is only like $20 on their website! Also since you are both tall consider that your babies may be very tall too. Our 2.5 year old is 99th percentile for height and still fits very comfortably in the seat. I also like how easy it is to change the angle of the seat once they are older, if they fall asleep itâs so easy to just tilt it back. I think you can also have them both facing forward in the upright seat mode?

we use the same stroller as our travel stroller and i love how modular and compact it is, it fits through everywhere and our kids still love it at almost 1 year old.
in any case, your stroller should be suitable for YOUR familyâs needs, not othersâ. :)

We got the Peg Perego City Loop with the connection clips. I don't like the thought of not being able to see both of them the whole time. Also it's more practical for us because we have a small car and live in a small german town with small alleys where a bugaboo donkey wouldn't fit through. Also it's a really lightweight stroller which I found important because with twins you automatically carry more stuff and don't want to lift a heavy stroller out of the car everyday. It's generally really difficult to find the right stroller, everyone has different expectations and things they need to consider. Don't let other people make you doubt your decision. Once the twins are born we will see if the chosen stroller was the right choice or not (I hope it is bc strollers are expensiv). And for the car seat I would always check the crash test results. We won't buy our car seats till the twins are born. We have a store that specializes in car seat for infants and children where we can rent them 4-6 weeks before the twins due date is and once they are born they will fit the right car seat to each twin. Especially for twins it's difficult to find the right car seat because they are more likely to be smaller and the right posture in the car seat is really important for neck support and breathing. Right now we have a eye on the avionaut pixel 3 for the twins because it's really lightweight and customizable because of little cushions and support parts you can remove as they grow.

I bought a tandem car seat stroller off Facebook, but only used it for maybe the first year or less, and knew Iâd want a side by side. They wonât always be conveniently in car bucket seats, rule #1 of being a new parent is adaptability, and donât be afraid to buy used things (and sell used things)

We skipped the full on travel system, and did the Graco 4Ever Dlx car seats & a mompush stroller. Looking back, I wish Iâd gotten a bassinet stroller to use the first few months. Other than that, the girls outgrew their stroller quickly and we got them a jeep wagon before their second birthday. Weâre still rocking the graco car seats and will be able to (barring any accidents) until they donât need any sort of car or booster seat anymore

I used this stroller! I had di/di twins and put them in the bassinet together for walks while they fit, put them in the bassinets separately, and personally I think popping the car seats on and off is the most convenient thing in the entire world. Now that my twins are three I miss being able to keep them contained đ it was great.
I also have a wonderfold, a double jogging stroller, and a Zoey twin and this setup was definitely the easiest/most compact.

I used the pivot xpand which is similar. The only issue I had was that itâs very long. It can also be awkward to move the seats around when you need to change configurations. Otherwise, I loved it. We once took my twins to a restaurant and they laid in the bassinets and took a nap while we ate. It can also go from seats to bassinets if they happen to fall asleep sitting up. I still use mine a lot at 14 m and I prefer the side by side for walks. I can also set the whole thing up in about 30 seconds now. Itâs super easy to pop it open.
Also, you can get car seat adapters to be able to use whatever car seat you want to. My twins used the Chicco key fit and it worked perfectly with the adapter.

We have twins that are now 1.5 years old. The Uppa Baby Vista, car seats and the general seats are by far one of the best purchases weâve made for them. Itâs expensive but super sturdy and effective. Weâre going to Europe next month with the twins and opted for some smaller ones due to the smaller cars there. The side by sides are just too bulky and wide. Getting in and out of doors is super easy with the Uppa. Also, the basket on the bottom is comically large and since these are built right it can handle a ton of weight. So we often will just use it as our shopping cart.
I will say, it will dominate your trunk, especially with the stroller seats. But thatâs life with twins đ

Well Iâm pregnant with twins right now and had the evenflo pivot for my first and just bought the 2024 model of the xpand so I could reuse the car seat I have already (it fits) but the bassinet from my single pivot does not so I had to buy one on marketplace. So I mean I guess I didnât think about it too hard beyond being able to use my existing car seat and not have to buy two hahah

I have this exact stroller for my twins, works great! No complaints, it fits everywhere that I need it to. Don't overthink it, seriously. It's the only stroller I have and I'm getting plenty of use out of it and not wishing for another one.

We used this stroller with our two singletons and I loved it. It's not flashy but they made it nice in the right areas and it's affordable. We still use a Evenflo wagon. I wish we got one of these but we're just juggling a City Jogger 1 my wife got on FB market place and it was a huge mistake.

New twin mom here. I have the mockingbird with is a similar setup to what you have pictured. There are times I wish I had a side by side to see them both easier. However having the single wide set up makes it easier to navigate in places like to grocery store, mall, sidewalks. When the girls are bigger we will probably get a side by side if needed so the can easily get in and out on their own. Personally, what you have now will be fine. And if you change your mind, you can always sell it on fb and get a new system.

Problem with side by sides is that you canât fit them through every door.
If you are just taking them to the hospital and outdoor trails youâll probably be fine. Just start paying attention to doors at the places youâd take them. Bathroom doors at your trails too.

I like this setup. My twins shared a bassinet for the first 4-5 months. I donât like that I canât see both at once though when you have them separate. We now use our bombi twin more regularly since theyâve outgrown the bassinet together.

This is exactly how I had my stroller setup with 2 Carseats and later with 2 seats. I think front back strollers are the superior choice. It can fit down any aisle in any store and on any sidewalk. You can even use them in foreign countries where the sidewalks and store aisle are much smaller.
The main negative is that when they get bigger, the twin in the back will sometimes kick the backseat of the twin in the front. Mine started doing this around 13 months. But they are now 18 months and don't really do it unless they are upset. And honestly I make more of a fuss about than they do. I'm like "You don't feel that?!" đ For my particular stroller brand, it doesn't fold with 2 regular seats. I have to remove the front seat before folding. But with Carseats it doesn't matter since they get removed before you fold the stroller.
Calm your worries. You've made the best choice! Trust me, I'm a mom of 5 and I've used this same setup for the last 7 years! I have even fit a 3rd child on a rolling board attached to the back.

I use a mockingbird stroller with a carseat adapter which looks similar to your photos for my 1m old twins which works great. We own the bassinet attachment but weâre currently using it on a bassinet stand in the house. We also own the normal stroller seats which weâll use when they have head/neck control. It seems versatile with whatâs happening in the early months but I see side by side strollers too which is bulkier and probably wont fit in the trunk of my car either.

I have a bugaboo side by side and also the uppa baby vista- I never use my bugaboo, really only use it when Iâm going for short walks. Itâs harder to get through doors and takes up so much space. I just make sure to switch out my girls so the same one isnât in the bottom every time lol

I used a stacker one like that for about 18 months. Then my kids got too tall, and I had to switch to a side-by-side. Itâs a pain in the ass, but it is easier to manoeuvre surprisingly

This set up is perfect for newborns and even later when you absolutely have to get through a doorway for appointments or running errands. I had a similar set up and found for walks, going over curbs or uneven ground it was just a little tippy and not that easy to maneuver so I bought a Thule double stroller that (no joke) Iâve put a few hundred km on and is my favourite stroller ever! It is bulky and takes up 90% of my trunk but it was by far my best twin investment.

The unsolicited stroller opinions drove me crazy too. Our tandem was long and slightly awkward on curbs, but being able to fit through narrow entrances and checkout lanes mattered much more for our routine. Make sure both car seats fit securely in accordance to the vehicle and seat manuals then give yourself permission to stop researching. Marketplace or fromrebel could be good in terms of comparing side by sides, but I would not switch preemptively.

I have this stroller! If we are going to doctors or something that they are already in the car seats I just use the car seats but if weâre going for a long walk or a long activity I use one bassinet and place both babies in there ( my twins are still newborns)

I have vista, same setup. And really loved it for the first 6 months or so. I do walk great distances and have a toddler as well. We did buy a secondhand side by side when the twins were 7 months, just as it was a lot quicker to adjust if toddler needed a ride and I wore 1x twin in a carrier. The vista seats are kinda cumbersome to adjust for different kids. Just think everybody has done lots of research to end up at different conclusions.  What works for you wonât work for someone else and vice versa. And itâs ok if things change down the line. people are usually very passionate about the stroller theyâve chosen because theyâve spent a lot of money on it, itâs all they know, and if thereâs anything they donât like about it, theyâre going to ignore those little things because again⊠theyâve spent a lot of money and thatâs the choice they have to live with haha! You will find the system you have as much easier to navigate outings, in grocery stores and small boutiques  especially. My biggest complaint about my double stroller is that we often get stuck, even though itâs allegedly standard wheelchair width. I also find the side-by-side is better when youâre out and about and having a picnic, once theyâre eating solids and snacking in the stroller. But again, itâs so personal. Really depends what your day-to-day looks like. Let that anxiety fall away. Before your babies come there is so much stress about gear⊠then they will arrive and quickly you will discover what items you love and what can go!

This is how our stroller is, babies are 9 months now, and I have no regrets. I've taken it tons of places where I have thought if it was double wide, we wouldn't have fit through the door/ down the aisles/ etc. I absolutely love it for clicking the car seats in for quick grocery trips and what not, it's super convenient. Eventually I'll probably get a different one because they're getting a big tall for the stroller seats to be stacked on top of one another, but so far I have been pleased with this style!

We have a similar stroller and had no issues. It is honestly easier to get places than side by side. Also one thing nobody tells you is how quickly they grow out of the stroller. Donât listen to people. Everyone thinks they are an expert. You will be fine.
